    Re: TNG S4: Remember Me

This was a great episode that I was enjoying so much until the freak known as The Traveler showed up with his metaphysical babbling. At that moment, I wanted to throw up.

I would have preferred Jordi to bring her back by using super secret tachyon beams but that would have meant Wesley was not a special being that shouldn't belong in this universe.

Why? why? I hate clowns dressed in whole suits without even a zipper where it should be.

    Re: Interstellar

I too considered Contact one my favorite sci-fi movies until I watched Interstellar.

Contact is a great movie that had a lot of science in it but also had a certain amount of typical liberal propaganda (a meaningless-sex-loving hippie priest, an evil Caucasian Christian terrorist, a hideous Republican Senator, etc etc). Carl Sagan is probably the astronomer that contributed the most to bring astronomy to the public and should be praised for it. I watched Cosmos when I was a kid and it motivated me to pursue science. But he was also a bigoted ideologue who saw all religious people as ignorant Neanderthals and conservatives in general as science haters. If you read his excellent book Pale Blue Dot, you'd get the impression only Democrats favored the space program and that we didn't go to Mars simply because Reagan didn't want to. The party he favored (Democrats) gets all the credit for all scientific advances in space while the Republicans he despised are associated to all negative aspects related to NASA.

Interstellar has none of that crap. Some might see the blight in the movie as a "global warming" consequence but it has nothing to do with it. The rest is all science presented with the most effective display of special effects I have ever seen in my life.

Gargantua tops the excellent introduction in Contact by a factor of 10. That scene alone left me grasping at the screen.

Re: Reflections upon 20 years and the elasticity of time

I discovered this website just this week. Yes, I've been a Star Trek fan for the past 25 years but never enough of a fan to get involved in any fan website. I simply watched the shows and that's it.

I congratulate you for your 20 years running this website. It shows its age and I don't mean that sarcastically or negatively. The design of this website is exactly what Tim Berners-Lee had in mind when he created the first website. Just delivery of content without the tracker-filled, ad-populated, Like-button, corporation-controlled mess we see today in most websites.

Kudos for still being around after 20 years on the web. Cheers for the next 20?

    Re: VOY S2: The Thaw

I agree with Nic. This episode is brilliant! All the crazy stuff that happens in the hostages' minds is the very definition of fear.

Fear drives us to think crazy things. The end is perfect. Fear exist for only one purpose: to be defeated. Buh-bye fear!

    Re: VOY S5: Timeless

This is one of the best episodes of the series.

It could have easily been made a movie. The plot is mindblowing very well executed.

Kim's acting is so different from the usual optimist Kim who sees good in everything. Here we have a man full of guilt, self-loathing and absolute no positive emotions other than his hope of restoring Voyager. When he thinks he failed, the man is a mess.

Re: TNG S5: The Inner Light

This is my favorite episode of the series. It made me think of the space probes Voyager 1 and 2. The acting is great and I like it it's an all Picard episode.

In thousands of years, after humans are long gone (after killing each other or overpopulation), those two probes will be the only proof that we ever existed.

I can imagine an alien civilization trying the decipher the contents of the disc with messages the probes carry with them.

Re: VOY S6: Live Fast and Prosper

@tlb "What part of Voyager's database let the fake Janeway know that the real Janeway likes to put her hands on her hips?"

A database can contain more than just words. Today any database can have binary data for any type of data including videos.

I can imagine in the future logs include 24/7 video of anything that happens in the ship.

Re: VOY S6: Live Fast and Prosper

"Just who is this guy when he isn't playing the role of Tuvok? "

The phony Tuvok might be a tongue-in-cheek joke at the expense of those actors in Hollywood who take themselves so seriously once they have left the studio they keep acting even after the cameras are not rolling. And boy does Hollywood have a lot of them!

A con will have to do some bad acting at some point to do the job but some bad actors are just phonies all the time.

    It's an entetaining episode. I'd give it a 3.5.

    Re: VOY S4: Scientific Method

I will support the majority of the comments. This episode didn't deserve such a low rating. I'd give it a 3.

I don't think the episode is related to experimentation on animals (boo-hoo how else would we have shampoo and soap?) but more about the dangers of experimenting with human DNA which is currently being done by rogue scientists around the world.

    Re: VOY S4: Living Witness

This is possibly the best episode of the entire series. I have watched Voyager many time sover the years and this episode is the one that stands above the others every time.

I find it laughable how the alien species portrays Chakotay with that cheesy tattoo, Janeway as a cold-blooded killer and Seven of Nine as a mindless far-from-being-sexy drone.

The PC attempt at somehow comparing racial issues to that of the US are laughable but hey this is Hollywood run by liberal idiots.

    Awesome episode!

Re: VOY S5: Bride of Chaotica!

I liked this episode. The reviewer is correct about the momentum of the black and white story being stopped by the "real life" story but I like that it pays hommage to old TV shows like Flash Gordon or Los in Space.

This should have been the only episode to feature Captain Proton and it should have included the hot twin sisters shown in a different episode.
