    Re: PIC S2: Farewell

The sudden appearance of Wesley made me drop my coffee and spit it out, dropped everything in fact including my trousers, lost my will to live after I stopped laughing. That came right out of nowhere. What the hell! Seriously?

Looking forward to S3 now I've caught up. Still trying to process what I've been watching, some of it really good, some of it bafflingly bad.

Re: Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

I've always loved this film, it came out whilst I was at junior school - the hype was intense with panini sticker books, the figures, the star wars toys on toy-day (probably a British thing, last day of term we all brought toys in - bonkers, but true) it was epic.

Fast forward to now, I rewatched the original trilogy for the first time for years on Disney plus recently, and as I think jammer said, as soon as ESB finished I was eager to get into ROTJ.

It's still the great film I remember, but what the hell is going on at the start with the hokey 'rescue attempt' which just seems all over the place and badly planned, with everyone getting caught!

Of course, Leias outfit soon made me forget all about it and yeah the death star mk2 yadda yadda but it's a rip roaring ride to the amazing end battle. Took me right back to 1983 and those great times. The point where Lando realises its a trap still gives me goosebumps. Excellent stuff!

    Re: PIC S2: Penance

Now this is great stuff! Alternative timeline or whatever Seven is positively gorgeous, and a borg queen-in-a-glass-case reminds me of Richard Nixons head in a jar from Futurama!

Wow, the change in pace from the 1st series (which I still enjoyed) has gone up several notches. Brilliant, just brilliant and I hope they can keep this up. I'm a bit behind so not reading reviews from later episodes until I've watched them......

    Re: PIC S1: Nepenthe

The way they are killing off everyone, I feared Cmdr Riker and Troi would be vaporised by the big bad scenery chewing lady at the end there somehow. Thank goodness I was wrong. Excellent episode .

Re: PIC S1: Stardust City Rag

Jees, I was convinced that Bjayzl was Deanna Troi at first. Rather enjoying it so far, though I'm not sure it's 'star trek' that I'm watching. Ah well, Seven looked great as Laura Croft/Indiana Jones.

    Re: TNG S5: Unification

Seemed to me Proconsuls 'office' was simply the Enterprises conference room, he even had Picards rotating screen thing from his ready room, just in a different color with some plastic bits stuck on to make it look different. Very strange.

Slow and plodding, we even got the plot explanation from Tasha whilst she twirled her moustache, before allowing the 'escape' at the end. I was willing her on to kill the lot of them just to see what would happen, but of course that would never be allowed.

    Re: TNG S4: The Host

So how did Picard feel about all this?

After all, in Qpid, he was getting all flustered about Beverly, er...Dr Beverly, um...Beverly Crusher...Dr Crusher ..intruding into his breakfast with the fine lady Vash (nice legs, for a human). Yet here we are with Dr Beverly falling in love before the episode even starts, with the outrageously gross blob of the week, as revealed later when it's inserted into Commander Riker. Even Deanna gives permission for Dr Beverly to bang 'her' Commander 'budget Shatner' for reasons. And despite trepidation, she does. Its implied anyway.

When the new host is revealed as a female, any thoughts of some serious girl on girl action in Picards ready room are rapidly dashed, but good god, it would have been a hell of a way to end the episode.

    5 out of 4 stars.

    Re: TNG S4: Devil's Due

I kinda like this one, in fact just rewatched it, strangely just after watching Patrick Stewart in 'a Christmas carol' TV movie from 1999. I'd forgotten the Christmas Carol themed start of the episode so that was rather bizarre. I found myself noting in the TV movie many mannerisms of Patrick Stewart, which he also does in TNG, expecting him at any moment to say 'engage' whilst the ghost of Xmas past was winding him up. Arda is great, she IS the episode.

    Re: TNG S3: Allegiance

The Alien of the week reveal was a laugh out loud moment, highlight of the episode.

To think the universe could be populated by tight spandex wearing tricksters with immense technology to purely see how command works because they don't have a command structure.

An odd one with some interesting scenes, and pretty good fun!

Re: VOY S1: Heroes and Demons

I note even this early on, as Ensign Harry 'I cant get a lock' Kim was busy being converted from matter to energy blah blah blah its B' Elanna 'I cant get a lock' Torres who stands in him by being unable to get a lock resulting in the temporary deaths of Chuckles and Tuvok.

    Re: TOS S2: The Apple

Wow, not sure what to make of this...this...episode. we will destroy whatever it is that controls your life using power we dont have because everything will be 'better' and dont you forget it 😄

I note David Soul in the credits. Not sure who he was in the episode.

    Re: VOY S7: Drive

Meh...the slowest race in history. Shouty nasty Paris snaps at the delightful Torres in that Seven rivaling 'race suit' - 'me pilot, you do as I say'

Where did they get hold of all the DC10 cockpit parts for the flyer?

Harry 'I'm useless with women' Kim fails to convince with his creepy alien chat up lines, but not quite as creepy as a certain Mr La Forge.

A bit dull, the only highlight is Torres in that race suit.

Seemed very un-trek, also had to rewind it because I thought Torres said 'I'm wet' for some reason. Happy to report I heard it wrong. Very wrong!

    Re: VOY S6: Muse

    Hmm

Torres manages to land on a planet full of luvvies.

Luvvuies who manage to speak in a slightly damok style and one manages to annoy the almost Seven rivaling Torres for hotness in her figure hugging grey under uniform. And annoy her he does with just about every word he says...'Vulcan!' Grrrrrrrr

    Re: TNG S5: The Game

Highlight for me is Datas forced 'laugh' when Wesley 'save the Enterprise and crew again but this time with the assistance of the banging hot Ashley Judd' Crusher is suprised in the conference room thing early on in the episode. Worthy of a rewind and watch again several times 😄

    Re: VOY S5: The Fight

    Two words. Vision quest.

    The end.

Then going round in circles like the Thompsons in 'land of black gold'

Nelix the dull shouting in the middle of a boxing ring was a highlight though.

But vision quests, wheels of whatever with stones and all that just bore the hell out of me.

    Re: VOY S5: Course: Oblivion

Bizarre. Not a lot to add but Seven of Nine looked like she had been in some Japanese bukakke movie (so a friend told me) before the ship and crew turned into goo, odd make up indeed.

Even if the real Voyager had got there before this event what would they have done? I'm sure it was mentioned (something about DNA blah blah blah) but would they have just scooped up the crew and ship in some vast test tube and returned to the one star rated planet from the Demon episode and then they would have been ok?

I'm still wondering what I just watched.

    Re: TNG S4: Qpid

I think the best line is - 'theres somthing you should know.....I'm not from Nottingham'

Pointless, daft, silly. But watchable, and a load of fun.

Not the best use of Q but what the hell. And Vash is pretty hot. 'Nice legs...for a human'

    I'd give it 3 easy.

Re: VOY S4: Hope and Fear

'You did designate the Admiral a wind bag'

Laugh out loud, interesting but maybe a little far fetched with the reasons for Mr huge peanut heads actions along with his super ship.

Still, highly entertaining. Plus, Seven gets hotter every week. Bonus.

    11/10 😄

Re: VOY S4: Year of Hell, Part I

Even with the inevitable reset, I quite enjoy this 2 parter. But where are the Q in all this? Or do the Q just not give a damn knowing the reset is coming eventually even after 2 centuries, which I guess to them, is like a brief second in time.
