Re: VOY S7: Endgame

I watched 20 episodes during the original run, and watched the entire series from start to finish over 6 months. I didn’t expect much as my die hard ST friends were unrelenting on their hatred of the series. Well, I can say that 20 years later, some episodes were stinkers, but I enjoyed the series. I grew to care about the characters, rooted for them in their struggles, and wanted to see them get home. I do feel like SciFi series have a certain shelf life and I feel like 3 years seems to be the maximum that the writers can be original without getting too goofy. I grew tired of BSG’s religious undertones, hinting at ghosts, and the supernatural. Star Trek likes to throw in weird time travel, Q, holodeck malfunctions, and shuttle crashes. No matter, we are not trying to cure cancer, we are trying to entertain, and it was still much more intelligent than so-called reality TV.

Voyager, I was entertained, and although you frustrated me many times, I will miss the feeling I had when watching the episodes for the first time. Adieu, and welcome home!

Re: VOY S7: Author, Author

I never got into this one, the doctor’s novel seemed over the top, Tom’s response was exaggerated. Definitely inspired by Measure of a Man, if not a rip off. All
In all, watchable and entertaining, but it is a 2.5/4 for me.

Quite entertaining episode, a pleasant side step from the last episode.

"I wouldn't want to be a third nacelle" Ha, that was a good one.

Re: VOY S6: The Haunting of Deck Twelve

Not as bad as I thought it would be, but I think you have to be in the right mood for it to be entertaining or irritating.

Re: VOY S6: Muse

Very different, I enjoyed it. They really need to keep tethers on the delta and those darn shuttles. Have they ever flown one without a crash?

Re: VOY S6: One Small Step

Pretty good. Pretty much everything is been covered. Chakotay suddenly has a strong hobby, Seven still is critical of humans being humans, another shuttle mission mishap, a ticking clock. All in all, entertaining, but Inwould
Max it out at 3 stars.

Re: VOY S4: Message in a Bottle

I enjoyed this one, season four has been an improvement over the previous seasons. It does seem to need a little polishing, but overall I am enjoying it.

Re: PIC S1: Stardust City Rag

Very campy, yet dark. I did not enjoy this as much as the previous episodes, although Troi's evil twin was a nice surprise. Seven being so bent on revenge, seems quite out of character for her.

Re: PIC S1: Remembrance

Very enjoyable, I look forward to the rest of the season. I watched 1 - 4, and rewatched episode 1 and still enjoyed it.

Re: VOY S2: Dreadnought

I skimmed some but not all of the above comments, so I likely am repeating: I think the episode would be more plausible if they encountered a debris field, found evidence of a weapon built by gamma aliens, and then proceeded with the episode. The odds of finding this stealthy, intelligent weapon of mass destruction in the a quadrant of the galaxy they are in is just not believable. Torres was good, I agree that this might have suited her better in the later seasons. Average episode for me.

Re: VOY S2: Meld

I enjoyed this one, the main guest star was believable and entertaining. I usually cringe in the "Vulcans gone bad episodes," but this one was better than most.

I enjoyed this one, I usually roll my eyes at holodeck error episodes but this was fun to follow along.

Re: VOY S2: The 37's

This was more fantasy and less about Sci Fi. Some interesting things here, and I enjoyed it more when I decided to not take it seriously.

Re: VOY S1: Learning Curve

I did not think this was too bad. Tuvok was heavy handed in the beginning, with a little tone deafness, but he was believable in the acting. The Maquis were a little too negative and teenage-like, but you have to think there was some tension early on in the merging of the crews.

Average episode so far. I did not find it as terrible as everyone else seems to, but I was not really in love with it either.

Re: VOY S1: Heroes and Demons

Somewhat forgettable episode, already a couple holodeck episodes and we are not even half way through the first season! Two more time travel episodes, a couple more bizarre energy lifeforms, and we get a full house!

Re: VOY S1: Prime Factors

I enjoyed this episode. A few silly parts in the episode, but nothing that diminished the episode. The last scene was quite well done. Janeway was believable, and Tuvok was credible.

Re: VOY S1: Ex Post Facto

I am really enjoying Tim Russ as Tuvok. I did call the mind meld. We have already had a lot of time travel, worm holes and holodecks, so a mind meld early on was a must!

Re: VOY S1: The Cloud

Good episode, predictable, but good popcorn fodder. So far on my first time through, I am finding the episodes to be better than I expected, so the negative press and reviews must have influenced my expectations accordingly.

Re: VOY S1: Time and Again

This was a bit of a weak outing. I am not sure why we always have to have a character with telepathic, psychic, empath, or other advanced mental abilites on a Sci Fi show. Why not have one with a wand and do some Gandalf as well? That being said, even the weak episodes have some character development to this point, but I agree with much of what is being said above.

Re: VOY S1: Caretaker

I watched 20 or 30 episodes during its run, but am going through the whole series. I did not think it was too bad of an opening, off to a decent start, we shall see if the rest of the series is as bad as everyone is saying...

Re: DSC S2: Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2

Well, it’s official. The new Picard show is called... (get ready to be shocked) Star Trek: Picard. I could’ve sworn Jammer’s been calling it this for months already.
