Re: DSC S2: An Obol for Charon

I liked this one. I held my breath for the "death scene" but it was better than I was expecting. I am interested in seeing what this will do for the character development for Suru as well as his species.

Without echoing too much of what has been said, I like that we are starting to see the crew develop, have meetings and have a role on the ship. I am still confused about the spore stuff, and now the blob-Tilley stuff, but we shall see what happens to this next week. I still think Pike is solid, although he was a little less intellectual about the sphere than I would have anticipated. I thought Burnham is better this season, but still seems to be involved deeply in everything going on in the universe at the moment.

Re: ENT S1: Oasis

Inoffensive episode, perfect to have on when folding laundry or cutting carrots. I mostly agree with the above statements, but had no serious problems with the episode.

Re: ENT S1: Fusion

Interesting concept, but the execution does seem a little forced. Joelene seems to be improving as the series goes along.

Re: ORV S2: A Happy Refrain

I will admit this is the first episode I watched the whole way through, and I enjoyed it. I am not as familiar with the entire back story, and I was surprised to see Sisko's wife wanting to get intimate with a robot, but it moved at a good pace, and I cound the robot hilarious. I now will have to find the older episodes online, and get caught up.

Re: BSG S3: Exodus, Part 2

This was one of my favourite episodes in the series. During the original run my spouse and I high-fived when the atmospheric jump was made, and the space battle was very intense.

Re: DSC S2: New Eden

I did not think they would have a perma-retirement on the spore drive, mainly because we had to have at least one usage with Pike at the helm.

For this episode to work plotwise, the planet had to be quite far in the boonies, or it would have been charted long ago. The problem then is how to get there in a blink, and instead of using a space time continuity issue, a wormhole, or a holosuite malfunction, we have our magic spore drive. I have to assume that the crew seeing dead people will also play into the spore world at some point, so the writers could not have the luxury of parking it forever. We shall see.

Normally I would find Tilley irritating, but I actually like her and the way they have been using her in s2 so far. That may change, who knows.

I like Pike a lot, a stable leader and I enjoy the scenes with him in it.

All in all, I am enjoying this season so far.
