Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi

1. I've been following Jammer's Reviews ever since Deep Space Nine was still new back in the 1990's. I always thought the reviews for TNG, DS9, and Voyager were spot on. I hadn't looked at other reviews until I glanced at the star rating for the Star Wars movies tonight.
2. I haven't read the Star Wars reviews themselves, I'm just commenting on the star rating.
3. I thought you were dead on again with the first 6 movies, but then went off the rails. I'm leaving my comment on the Last Jedi, because I think it is the biggest "oooppps" in the bunch.
4. 3.5 stars for Last Jedi!!!!!!! You have got to be kidding. You thought Last Jedi was better than Rogue One, arguably up there with Empire Strikes Back. The Last Jedi is the standard by which bad movies are measured. GOT season 8 bad. Finn's whole story line was a joke. They've never played around with the idea of ships running out of fuel before. Since when can you track ships through hyperspace? And, if you can turn a capital ship into a hyperspace weapon, wouldn't people be doing this all the time. (Don't get me wrong - the capital ship weapon scene was an amazing shot.)
5. I was not a fan of the defeatist attitude of Luke Skywalker. I thought the movie should have included a large flashback to the jedi academy Luke was trying to start. Show Luke as a great Jedi Master. Show Ben's downfall and the destruction of the academy in detail.
6. Anyway, just my thoughts as Disney tries to get every dollar out of the franchise it can. A side rant on Disney: How can you start production on Star Wars 7, 8, and 9 WITHOUT HAVING AN OVERARCHING PLOT. Isn't that step #1? What are you smoking over there? Please, I could have come up with a better plot in one sleepless night.

Re: TOS S3: Let That Be Your Last Battlefield

I saw this episode as a kid, and thought it was eye-opening for the subject matter and especially what was going on in the 1960s with the race riots in the USA.

Seeing the National Guard on my city streets was quite scary, Bobby and Martin had been killed - and this episode shined a light right on the same subject matter making illuminating the stupidity of the whole thing.

Yes, it may have been preachy, but to me it showed how mind-fumblingly stupid the human race can be.
