Re: TNG S7: Preemptive Strike

I really liked the dialog between Captain Picard and Admiral Nechayev.

Re: VOY S2: Twisted

I dont think this episode is so bad!

I also love Sandrine! She is sexy and that voice... I wish she would have been recurring.

Re: VOY S5: The Disease

Seven Of Nine not wanting to leave sickbay because of contamination?! Hahaha sure - she was waiting for Harry Kim to spill the beans on sex :-D She knew he was in love, too.

This episode is not so bad. And its also consistent with the series. In the episode what-its-name when the vidians attack and Janeway orders Kim to take young Naomi Wildman and get over to the other Voyager you can clearly hear the emotion in her voice. This time she is disappointed by Harry Kim - or maybe jealous - not unlike a mother when her son has a girlfriend.

Wang may not be the best actor, but he did pretty well in this episode.

People complain about Voyagers reset button, but even if there is some continuity, they will still complain. Voyager - and especially Harry Kim - can never do it right.

I would have liked to find out more about the generational ship and their technologies.

3 Shining Stars for this episode

Re: VOY S5: Gravity

I really enjoyed this episode. I could have done with less flashbacks and a little more showing in how much of an emotional struggle the grown up tuvok really is, but well.

I think the tuvok, doctor, paris trio works very well together. I also really like Picardos performance, he really shows how much the doctor has changed.

Speaking of acting, Im a little disappointed by Janeway and Mulgrews portrayel of her starting with season 5. Her Janeway seems hurried and impatient as well as more superficial. The character basically stays more or less the same. There isnt much development.
It looks a little like Mulgrew is going through the motions since shes established the character and the producers were satisfied with her initial acting. Also season 5 starts with "Night", an episode which allowed Mulgrew to spend more time with her family, a thing she had supposedly been "complaining" about.
I think Mulgrew didnt give her personal best since season 5 anymore, with some exceptions like "counterpoint" for instance.

What do you think?

Re: VOY S3: The Chute

Good episode!

Did anyone else feel signs of claustrophobia when Harry crawled up that chute? Im not sure I would have made it up there with somebody so close behind me.

Re: VOY S3: Remember

Belanna Torres Episodes are pretty fine episodes to watch. I just like Dawson play the part. I wished they would have used her more often.

Re: VOY S3: The Swarm

I like this episode, not the swarm story so much. But the interactions between the doctor and torres and the doctor and zimmerman are great.
Its fantastic when the doctor grabs zimmermans shoulder and spins him around.

Re: VOY S1: Phage

When Neelix is transported his matter is being disintegrated and then being put together again. But then again his lung cant be replicated. I dont understand that.

Re: VOY S4: Random Thoughts

"a relatively unchanging story setting where the ship and crew can fly in, meet some people, encounter and subsequently solve a problem, and then fly out."

Well, they are traveling to Earth, so its only logical for them to fly in and then leave again.

Anyway. This was a good episode. I think it was (at least also) about homosexuality and the way society deals with it. The scenes between Tuvok and Guill were indeed very homoerotic. There was double meaning in the dialog as well.
But this also does work very well with the violent nature of human beings as well. So the episodes agenda is pretty much open for personal interpretation, rather than telling the audience "deal with violence, homosexuality, etc.".

This doesnt make up for the fact though, that voyager was much less liberal and forseeing than TNG or the original Series.

Re: VOY S7: Human Error

I liked this episode. Especially the ending was very sad and Ryan managed to convey Sevens Emotions just right.

Im glad though that Seven decided to stop pursuing her human side for the time being, because she looks much better in her suit ;-)

It doesnt always have to be big dramatic and revolutionary stories. After all, its meant to be entertaining as well.

Re: VOY S2: Deadlock

This was a very good episode.

Mulgrew did a very good job. Especially the scene where she meets her counterpart was nice as well as where she tells harry to get a move on. When Janeway says "enable" for the self destruct you can feel the emotions behind that. It really conveys that its not a light decision and that shes sacrificing ship and crew and that shes angry for not getting the crew back to Earth.

Re: VOY S4: Prey

Well, Janeway has got a point. Even today with the constitutional right of human dignity (at least in my country) forbids to sacrifice another human in order to save other humans.
I dont know if it applies to aliens though since the constitution only affects a certain country. but then again when youre space travelling they probably widened their fundamental principles.

Re: VOY S5: Warhead

ugh, I didn't like this episode at all. I mean, why did they beam that thing up to voyager in the first place, and then right into engineering?! I mean, they obviously needed that thing up on the ship, but they should have made it a little more believable.

And Janeway again threatening to sacrifice ship and crew in order to save others yaaaawn
