Re: VOY S4: Year of Hell, Part I

Even with the inevitable reset, I quite enjoy this 2 parter. But where are the Q in all this? Or do the Q just not give a damn knowing the reset is coming eventually even after 2 centuries, which I guess to them, is like a brief second in time.

Well I gathered one thing from this episode. Bar the bunion, Kes has nice feet. For an Ocampa...

Re: VOY S3: The Q and the Grey

Great stuff, with several laugh out loud moments which is always good. I can see why the low rating and understand the majority of the comments here but I enjoyed this, and especially Mrs Q. It's clear Voyager desensitized the menace of Q despite the comedy that was always there in TNG but what the hell.

Voyager will never be TNG but it has its moments.

Re: VOY S2: Basics, Part I

Woah, what was all that weird incredible expanding man effect when Mr Cornflake head blew himself up??? How was that not spotted during all those medical scans?

And Chakotays baby looked like a cabbage patch doll.

Laugh out loudable, some of this episode is!

Re: TNG S2: Time Squared

Anyone else think future Picard who is catching up with himself and current Picard switch as they walk to shuttle bay 2? I'm pretty convinced they do, or they seem to.

I do like the moment in shuttle bay 2 when one Picard tells the other to 'stand aside'

Great episode 👍

Re: VOY S2: Maneuvers

I've never understood, whilst Voyager gets photon turbo lasered to within a few percent of destruction by shady cackling wry smiling 'bad hair guys of the week' they dont, as others have noted, just transport some explosive device directly to the engine room along with Neelix and get the hell out of there.

I like this Seska chick though.

Re: VOY S2: Persistence of Vision

Strangely compelling viewing, interseped with some laugh out loud moments which makes for great star trek, especailly after reading the comments here.

Way better than the previous few episodes of dross. As someone here noted, I also got 'sub rosa' vibes plus bonus typical American 'this is how we think britsh people really are' squabbling over cucumber sandwiches and what not, dont you know :D.

Re: VOY S2: Parturition

Breakout character? What did that even mean? I'd wager Neelix is even more annoying than 1st season Wesley and La Forge during his creepy Leah Brahms crush.

At least Janeway had a nice hair style in this episode.

Re: VOY S2: Non Sequitur

I had a vague memory of seeing this ages ago as soon as Kim walked into the bar, it seemed somewhat familiar. But my, who was the God awful woman in the first 20 minutes? Mr and Mrs No charisma or ability to show any emotion whatsoever. Her, despite finding out her soon to be suddenly decided he wasnt supposed to be there and was from 'another reality' is more concerned about looking exactly as she looked when they were in bed together. Terrible.

Re: TNG S1: Lonely Among Us

'P for Picard?' Laugh out loud moment for me.

And the captain being 'too busy' to entertain Crusher and Rikers medical examination whilst having his feet up on the ready room desk.

Completely ludicrous, but strangely watchable

Suprised how it all gets wrapped up in about 15 seconds at the end. Very strange!

Re: VOY S7: Prophecy

This happens to be on UK TV right now. Struggling my way through it. Nobody in it seems interested in the laughable storyline(s) - its sapping my will to live. Shame, I remember years ago enjoying some of Voyager. Awful.

Re: TOS S3: All Our Yesterdays

The musketeer types that greeted Kirk when he went through the portal instantly reminded me of the Picard-Data-laforge musketeers from 'Hollow Pursuits'

The scantily clad women of the week was quite hot as well!

Re: TNG S7: Eye of the Beholder

Dont think its TNGs finest hour, but watchable. My passing interest was raised with the slightly menacing nearly-villan-of-the-week, somthing about that guy was a little worrying. The fact that the whole episode took place in 20 seconds and nothing was what it seemed. Hmmm ok, everybody at the end understood perfectly, and on to the next starbase, make it so.. Decidedly odd.

Re: TNG S7: Lower Decks

I enjoyed this one. Years since I've seen it, and I wasnt expecting Sito's end at all, had completely forgotten that was coming.. I also liked the parallels between the Junior crew and the officers. One thing that did jump out at me quite quickly, Lavelle appeared to be a 'Tom Cruise in top gun' lite, rather than a 'Riker when he was younger' character. Maybe it was his mannerisms or the way he played it.

Re: TNG S7: Attached

Man this was slow going. I dont recall seeing it before, but the best part was all the contraptions the kes had in there quarters on the Enterprise which seemed to increase every time Riker visited, only for him to be checked for bugs or somthing each time. Beverly has a permanent dancers gait whether shes walking, running, or half falling down a mountain side, and the two alien races seemed somewhat laughable, seemingly only paranoid about everything. How did the federation think it was a good idea for half this lot but not the other to join up? Silly alien uniforms also for the Prytt. Think she was quite hot but we never had chance to find out. Shame.

Re: TNG S3: Hollow Pursuits

Just re-watched this, and found myself rewinding and rewatching the 'musketeers' scene just for Picards 'HA'. Utterly brilliant. A great episode? Most definitely.

Re: TNG S4: Brothers

I love this episode, the build up as Data takes over the ship is intense and well put together. But has anyone else noticed the knowing 'nod' Data and Picard share just as they clear the bridge? Everytime i see this episode i wonder about it. When i first saw it, i presumed this 'nod' implied Picard was 'in' on whatever was about to take place. But its clear he isnt. Saw it again the other night, and theres also a 'nod' between Data and Riker just before Picards 'nod'. Bizarre!!! Im guessing its a 'meet you in engineering in a minute' type acknowledgement but im still not sure. Even Mrs Todayshorse noted it, i paused and rewound my tivo box to better grasp whats going on. Maybe its nothing! Still, brilliantly done, and as a few others noted i didnt even realise Spiner played Doctor Soong until more recent times. Its one i can watch over and over whenever its aired. 4 stars from me easily.

'Mr Brocoli' as said by Captain Picard just sums up this episode. And the 'Ha!!!' by the musketeers. Brilliant!!.

Re: TNG S3: The Most Toys

I rather like this episode. Saw it again last nite, unlike some its re-watchable, Fajo is well acted, like others said he is totally obnoxious and you just want Data to punch him in the face! I do like the bit where Data falls over like an object rather than how we would. Im liking season 3 very much :)

Re: TNG S6: Suspicions

What a bizarre episode. Having read the comments there's not much more to say but I did note a few things. The 'entire' crew seem totally not concerned with what's going on, even picard seems to give the impression ' oh Beverly what have you done now...sigh' like she does this all the time... even Beverly walks round the ship in a slow convoluted way, Data seems confused and 'not really interested' when Beverly asks him if sabotage is possible. They all seem to treat her as they would any 'non regular' crew member - or maybe it's just me that's noticed that - With contempt, irritability, as if anyone else on the ship but them has problems or knows what they are doing. Strange. Did enjoy the almost 'porn movie' sounds that seemed dubbed over the fight scene on the shuttle craft, and Beverlys roundhouse kick chuck norris stylee on the was dead but now isn't alien scientist bloke. Just how did he get out of the morgue and back again whilst he was doing dastardly things? And if I hadn't known better I would have said Will Wheaton played the ferengi.

Re: TNG S2: Shades of Gray

And so to the end of season 2 on the re-run of the entire TNG series im watching currently. I have a distant memory of having seen this years ago, but feared the worst, even warning 'she-who-must-be-obeyed' - who has watched the re-runs with me and is becoming quite an avid 'TNG' and-everything-else-trek fan, that this is probably TNG's worst episode. True to form, its awful.

Even she picked out most of the first few 'clips' originating episodes which suprised me, but i had to use the fast forward button on the Tivo to get to the end. If Picard had asked the Doctor one more time 'what can i do'? or 'What do you want me to do?'.......

TNG is to me, 'STAR TREK' and its such a shame, i can watch any episode over and over, and have done over the years, i always enjoy it but this.....well. I understand about the strike and saving money etc, but no one participating in it seems even bothered. Even Riker couldnt care less that he might die. With Troi almost hysterical and the Doctor constantly shaking her head at her computer screen thing, its one ill avoid in the future like it just doesnt exist!

One thing i did note was how different Data had become since the clip shown on the episode where Riker calls him 'Pinocchio' in the holo-forest to how he is now at the end of season 2.

Re: TOS S2: Catspaw

Ludicrous. How this could follow the brilliance of the Doomsday Machine is beyond me. Somesort of Halloween special? It wasnt very 'special'. I did enjoy the ending though, ive never laughed so much at the actual forms of the fat bald bloke and the cat. What was that all about???
