Re: ENT S3: Azati Prime

It's funny that Yanks racism annoying, it's easy to glass over if It's not happening to you. And this "he's a bad actor" logic is stupid. Why hire him than if not to use him as a token black person and pretend that you care about diversity?

Re: ENT S3: Azati Prime

Or sweezeley it could be racist, sorry if you find that offensive. One black person on the show and they're shoved to the back. If acting was an issue than hire a black person who could act.

Re: ENT S4: Daedalus

Obviously youre wrong @navamske it did need to be answered. Your using the Scotty situation on TNG is silly. There was a concentrated beam locked into a ship. This was someone supposedly floating around in space. So yes you're wrong.

Re: ENT S4: Borderland

Sorry @Diamond Dave you are completely wrong, Brent Spiner does a great job portraying Soong and just chews up the scenery. He is outstanding.

Re: VOY S2: Prototype

@Yanks Actually Data is recognized as a sentient being, the TNG did an episode confirming this when an attempt was made to dismantle him.

Re: VOY S2: The 37's

That's the point @JC the fact that their sensors did not pick up thousands of people and buildings and structures on the planet which would have alerted them to a first contact is silly.

Re: VOY S2: Deadlock

Also the comment that her face did not change when informed of Harry's death is idiotic because it is laughably inaccurate. She literally looked like shecwas going to throw up and looked at Chakotay in shock.

Re: VOY S2: Deadlock

@Quincy That is one of the things I never liked about Voyager. They were so determined to make Janeway one of the "great" captains that they made her capable of thinking up things, solving things and realizing things and saying line that Tuvok or Paris or Harry or Seven of Nine or Be'Lanna should have been saying or doing.

@MartinB The only thing better would be for Harry Kim to live and for your ability to post opinions to be prevented permanently.

@Dave Your post is beyond dumb. It would have been stupid to blow them up because it would have been tantamount to murder.

Re: TNG S2: Pen Pals

Actually @Shannon your comment was irrational and again proves my point. You complain about the United States getting involved in situations and disasterous results what about good results? A somewhat comparable situation would be WWII. People such as yourself would be criticizing the United States for entering into it even through it saved a culture of people from being wiped out brutally as well as saved countries from being conquered and enslaved. That is more comparable to this episode not the usual anti-United States rhetoric.

Re: TNG S2: Pen Pals

Actually Patrick your response is childish and selfish and uninformed and actually proves what I said in my previous post about people blaming the US and that being a perfect parallels to the Enterprise

Re: TNG S2: Pen Pals

I totally disagree @Brandon. It's funny that you refer to the senior staff as "preachy, pretentious, and self-righteous jerks" because in the real world of the United States had done the same thing people such as yourself would have ripped the US for getting involved in something that didn't concern them, needlessly risking American lives, wasting money and time, they're backwards let them help themselves and so forth, especially if it is a country that they decided that they did not like. Arbitrarily saving lives?

Re: ENT S2: The Expanse

Here is a link to the actual maps that were standard in US schools and not the fictional America that W Smith grew up in.

www.mapsofworld.com

Notice America is on the left and Asia isn't split? Just sayin'.

"W Smith
Mon, Jun 15, 2015, 2:00pm (UTC -5)
I grew up in the US with a large map on my bedroom wall that had the US right in the center with Asia cut in half on both sides. This was the standard map I saw in schools as well. Just sayin'. "

Then you're either lying or grew up in a strange part of America because all of the maps I have seen have America on the left side I've never seen one with America in the middle. Saying it was the standard map in school is a flat out lie and something you made up in your head. Just sayin'.

Re: ENT S2: The Expanse

People are complaining that an American show is mostly showing Americans? Ummm what about Doctor Who and the majority of people who are Humanoid having British accents? Or Japanese movies? Etc., etc.

Re: ENT S1: Rogue Planet

On a side note I found it sad and disturbing that there were people in this thread who considered this pro-liberal anti-conservative blah, blah, blah. It has to be a sad existence if you have to see real life politics in everything you watch or read.

Re: ENT S1: Rogue Planet

Actually what T' Pol stated is what many real life scientist consider a real possibility. That there are rogue planets capable of supporting life without a Sun because of hot gas venting from areas and that is where the life would concentrate from. As Archer said an oasis. So the scientific theory is sound, I don't know about the rest of it though.

Wait a minute these people execute and murder crew members and it is just brushed away because they're sorry? Wow. A brutal episode.

Re: TOS S2: Who Mourns for Adonais?

I hated the love part. And considering she "lied through her teeth" to save the crew I didn't have a problem with it at all. As for you being upset that she didn't marry Apollo "as was her desire" maybe Apollo shouldn't have kidnapped the crew. If he had let them go he could have had her. And if she had attempted to convince on this she wouldn't have had to lie to him.

Re: TOS S1: Arena

I also find it ironic that they judge humans on the "advanced trait of mercy" yet they were originally not going to show mercy. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black on that one. What were the writers thinking?
