Re: VOY S7: Prophecy

Kind of strange seeing B'elanna go from violating tons of Starfleet security protocols and ethical concepts trying to forcibly genetically modify her baby to remove the forehead ridges, to allowing her baby to potentially be named after the prophet in a Klingon fringe cult, all in the span of a few episodes.

One cool thing - the baby mobile in the crib uses painted Hallmark Ornaments!

Re: VOY S7: Drive

One of the worst episodes in this series. Totally at odds with the tone and spirit of the Star Trek.

If I was a crewman, the second some senior officer on Voyager started giving away complex tech to fix up someone's astro rat rod, I would mutiny. How many people have died fighting off innumerable threats to preserve Voyager's supplies? We are a starship trying to get home, not Pepboys.

Re: VOY S7: Repression

Great episode! Ya'll are crazy to not like this. I love neo-noir vibe, and Tuvok as a detective. MUCH better than the excruciatingly dumb previous episode where everyone decides playing Speed Racer in Space is better than stopping the Borg from raping the universe or getting home.

Re: VOY S6: Riddles

This year, my mom, a 70 year old cancer patient, went into a delirium after her chemo treatment nearly killed her. She woke up after a week of sleeping and delirious fits having lost the ability to feed herself, go to the bathroom, walk.

Over the past month she has regained her ability to feed herself and can open packages, and stand, slightly.

However what has gone and not come back is her memory.
She cannot hold a conversation for long. She cannot remember new information for longer than a day. She is fully convinced she is living in the 1980's, in her 30's, before she gave birth to me. She knows I am her son but she doesn't know who I am. She speaks to me about things I never did or said, or someone she used to know did. She speaks as if relatives long dead were just meeting with her, and cries each time when she finds out they're dead.

It's unknown if this will change and if she will recover her memory.

However, she has her mannerisms. She is nice. And she feels good and not as deathly ill as she was on chemo. We must now figure out how to rehab her and get her home, and work to recover a life for her. I figure she spent years taking care of me when I did not know how to walk, talk, or take care of myself. It's my turn now.

This episode summarizes so much of what the past month has been like. It has an important message. You cannot make someone who they used to be sometimes, but you can always try to help them be who they can be today.

Top 10 Trek for me.

Re: VOY S5: 11:59

In an interesting twist, the Millennium Gate turned out to be a Borg/Ferengi plot to install a giant antennae on Earth. Once operational, the antennae broadcasts a signal that subtly causes humanity to become profit-seeking individuals. These creatures reap gains off the suffering of the weak, mercilessly pollute, and seek new profits in the stars. This weakens Earthlings, allowing the Borg to assimilate them easily by posing nanophage assimilation arachnotrons as the hottest new Christmas present, Tickle Me Eleven of Seven... And allowed a few Ferengi to amass a lot of value as time traveling bitcoin entrepreneurs.
