Re: TOS S2: Metamorphosis

Ms. Hedford was taken over by the companion without her permission and decided to stay behind. And nobody blinked that her life has changed. I don't think she would have been willing to this (what reason there could be to stay behind? and she was so anxious to get to the war region to prevent it).

Kirk promised he won't tell about Cochrane. How will he explain Hedford's absence? Lie?

Sad that TOS episodes bring out so many interesting ideas but falls miserably half way through.

Totally agree with Arachnea and William. I feel sorry for the haters.

Re: DS9 S6: In the Pale Moonlight

@William B: Interesting take on deaths of Romulans.

@Arachnea: Bingo on Brooks acting.

@Marco P: I agree about morality. Everybody is immediately bringing Gene's idealism and rules it out. But here it is basic morality.

Re: DS9 S6: Honor Among Thieves

Bilby is going on a mission to assassinate a Klingon ambassador (and Jammer is saying he is a good guy!!). This can potentially cause Klingon to move away from the alliance, and Dominion can defeat the Federation. OBrien is now concerned about the criminal than billions of lives at stake. I can't believe this big a hole in the plot.

OBrien assumes that Bilby will not harm him? Or is he risking his life and don't concern about his wife and kids for a criminal (who is going to assassinate)? Bilby says that he doesn't like to be betrayed. Didn't OBrien just do that?

I liked the episode right until the moment OBrien objected to inform Klingons about the assassination plan. What was his suggestion, I didn't know.

Re: DS9 S5: Nor the Battle to the Strong

@Nick P: "It's OK you almost killed Bashir, likely did kill a couple people, and embarrased starfleet Jake, you are a kid writer!!!!"

How did he almost kill Bashir? How did he (likely) kill a couple people? How did he embarass starfleet?

Re: DS9 S5: Nor the Battle to the Strong

"why I watch DS9—a real story, with real people, real problems, and real reactions."

It was hilarious, I didn't know Odo, Jadxia, Worf, Quark, etc are real people (I misunderstood they were scifi characters). And problems like shape shifting race trying to attack federation using genetically engineered race are very real, aren't they?

This episode can very well be any human drama series about war and doesn't need star trek for that. If you are watching star trek for these kind of stories, I don't know what to watch for scifi stories? CSI: Miami?

Re: VOY S6: Unimatrix Zero, Part I

@Cail Corishev: Totally agree. Queen was supposed to be a spokesperson rather than giving orders to other drones.

As many mentioned it seems the borg are made dumber and less dangerous every episode. For eg. a few thousand drones against the whole empire? And they are easy to identify. You cannot connect to them. It is like 3 drones in a 64K drone vessel. Very scary for the empire. And some of them are children and most of them civilians (not warriors like the Korrok).

When the queen found 3 are not reachable, she can ask the 64K-3 drones to find them and kill instead of destroying all 64K. I don't even understand why she is afraid of the resistance. "Resistance is futile" isn't it.

I liked the episode though :)

Re: VOY S6: Muse

About character development, etc, I watch Star Trek because of SCI-fi and it is fascinating about star ships, future technology, etc. I too love the characters but I don't need them talking forever to establish their character. It should be part of the story plot and not standalone scenes for the sake of character development.

I am not much of an action fan, just a little bit for story sake. But I like more science and technology.

Jammer's reviews are more about character development and most of the time I don't agree with the ratings. The only reason I am reading this is because I can read episode by episode since I am watching it for the first time and don't want to read or discuss about episodes I haven't seen. This and cynicscorner are two places I know which I can read episode by episode.

Re: VOY S6: Muse

@BlightedSight

Tuvok hadn't slept for 10 days and I remember hearing Janeway saying they are looking for them for 2 weeks (I think). So she should have been out for 8 normal days or so at a minimum.

But how the alien saying "8 days" from his perspective will be translated to us in 'earth' days? Is it earth days? BTW when they talk about days in StarTrek is it earth days? What about Vulcans and Klingons, they follow earth days in the ship?

Re: VOY S6: Good Shepherd

Agree with some of the comments here.

1. No need to take all 3 newbies in one away mission.

2. Surprised Janeway didn't know the way to a particular area.

3. Janeway seemed to be overly upset when the alien lifeform is killed (true to Trek philosophy though).

Re: VOY S6: Ashes to Ashes

I totally agree with Justin about Harry and Mezoti. In fact I found it creepy when I read comments perverting that scene.

If Harry was planning to go on a romantic boat ride and then took Mezoti instead, I agree. This is some prank he wanted to play with Vulcan priests.

Re: VOY S6: Memorial

Kristen: "But how else does one avoid repeating the mistake? Do you learn not to touch a hot stove because someone told you it was hot? Or because you read a compelling story about how hot it was? Or do you learn when you put your own darn hand on that stove?"

How did you learn not to murder somebody? By murdering somebody and feeling it is bad?

Are you saying before this all of Voyager's crew was murdering innocent people in cold blood and they need this experience to not do that?

Actually it is more logical for people to get the memories of the victims to stay away from that crime (like feeling the heat of a stove rather than putting a hot plate on somebody else). If cold blooded murderers got this memory they might relish that and do more.

Re: VOY S6: Good Shepherd

I agree with Jay about the ending. Harren went into action instead of just being a theorist. Celes took responsibility when she refused to just escape and Telfer got better after the alien incident. I liked the way there was no separate scene to explain it.
