Re: TNG S2: The Child

Pulaskis "folksy" racism and bigotry was cringe inducing. I know she was meant to "challenge" the rest of the crew but you can do that without utilizing such a totally loathsome character.

Re: TNG S1: The Neutral Zone

As someone born in the early 1990s I did not find the frozen people relatable at all. They just seemed greedy and self centered

Re: VOY S5: Course: Oblivion

It always cracks me up to see people treat Trek as this "hard sci fi" show that rests within our laws of physics and understanding. The whole point is to leave those normal constraints behind and use that freedom to explore interesting ideas. That's what this show exemplifies for me. No, it doesn't make sense but it is an INTERESTING story imo. Therefore this show is a success in my book even if it's too "cynical"??? for some.

Re: TNG S1: Skin of Evil

The funeral scene at the end is way too long. I just had to rewatch with my mom (her first viewing so i have to suffer through shows like this again.) and i was just cringing the entire time. It seemed like she had a "personal message" for everyone on the ship. Why did she not have one for Ben or the tea drinking transporter guy?

Re: DS9 S2: Whispers

Really interesting to me how all the people complaining about "bias" against Voyager can't name a single VOY mystery episode better than "Whispers." This is because there really are no better mystery episodes than this! I love Voyager but it never really did mystery episodes of this quality.

Re: VOY S3: Fair Trade

I don't care what "memory alpha" says! In my headcanon, Paris was attending the academy but was known for being a wildcard so his dad registered him under a different name to avoid any potential humiliation his son might cause him. Fits in with Tom's daddy issues perfectly and makes sense of the frankly confusing writing they did

Re: DS9 S2: The Alternate

Hello, user "Jayson" couldn't help but notice but his name is "Sisko" not Sisco. Common slip of the tongue, quite common!

Re: VOY S6: Equinox, Part II

I love Chakotay's line at the end about how his staging a mutiny would have been crossing the line. Was a nice way to bring the episode full circle

Re: TNG S1: Justice

Ahh, a planet of all white, hot dog skinned people. Since this episode aired in 1987, I can see Patrick Bateman watching this episode and wanting to vacation with the Edo

Re: VOY S4: Waking Moments

This episode had a lot of witty dialogue and the direction accentuated the humour. 4 star episode for me

Re: VOY S2: Resolutions

I think the monkey symbolizes Janeways struggle to accept life on the planet "giving up" as she puts it. Indifference to the monkey represents her attachment to her Starfleet life while calling out and making friends with the monkey, represents her acceptance of being stranded on the planet listening to Chakotays "ancient warrior" stories.

Re: DS9 S5: The Begotten

A good rule of thumb to the noobies, the older the show, the more spoilers there will be. This is the internet, baby! (no pun intended related to this episode's plot!)
Decent episode but I do wish they had shown the infant changeling in pain to somehow show its suffering. That would have made its sacrifice more dramatic. I found the restoration of Odo to be wondrous. Really enjoyed.

Re: DS9 S3: Meridian

Deral and Jadzia have incredible chemistry imo. The lust and extremely intense attraction between the two is visceral. I love this episode. Also sisko crying while saying goodbye to Dax is some of his best early series acting again in my opinion.

Re: ENT S3: Carpenter Street

That was supposed to be a "flashback" to 2004? Then why did it look like the 1980's? The car, the adult worker, the telephone? All very 80's and didn't convince me it was 2004

Re: DS9 S5: For the Uniform

Starfleet has been shown to overlook certain actions if the ends justify the means. Saying Sisko used a "wmd" is perhaps a bit hyperbolic . He simply made a planet uninhabitable for Humans and gave them plenty of warning. A colony can't have that many people right? A couple of decent sized transports could easily get everyone safely off the planet. Yes, they did wait til the last minute to scramble their ships but it still seems like no one was hurt or killed by Siskos or Eddingtons actions.
