Re: TNG S7: Eye of the Beholder
(Morgan Freeman) The sisters never bothered Wesley again. Pierce...never walked again.

Re: TNG S1: Conspiracy
To be fair to it, though; it really is a shit episode. No Elliot comment, to boot!

Re: DS9 S5: A Simple Investigation
Apparently Odo sees no need in having the computer notify him when weapons go off in random quarters on the station. Ye olde 24th century 2nd amendment. 'Just another domestic'.

Re: DS9 S5: Looking for Par'mach in All the Wrong Places
Kira & O'Brien have zero chemistry, which makes the idea of them 'alone' in that house on Bajor torturous.

Re: DS9 S4: Paradise Lost
Sorry folks, but the pantomime award for this episode goes to Colm Meaney. 'RU HU HU HU!! We've only just begun!' Avery just happened to be on the same bench, he is not complicit.

Re: VOY S6: Pathfinder
The doctor gets the award for 'Breeching code of ethics'. He really outdoes himself; announcing Barclay's medical history to the entire crew, in a particularly smug manner also. Zimmerman must have been hungover when coding that particular 'sub-routine'.

Re: DS9 S6: Behind the Lines
Admiral Ross, the idea that this blandee out-ranks anyone is laughable. Truly a leader of men. He's just slightly less wooden than that Admiral in Rapture. The only one in the entire run of DS9 with any depth or gravitas is Necheyev. Admiral Patrick was more effective than Ross.

Don't worry, 'Neelix is going to submit a diplomatic protest'. Everything that stuffed toy does is just designed to keep him busy under the pretext that he's not genuinely useless.

Re: DSC S1: Context Is for Kings
I don't think the room-mate cadet is necessarily supposed to be comic relief, more Trek's attempt to tackle psychological challenges, anxiety etc. and overcome them. Was attempted before a little with Barclay but in too camp a manner (holo-addiction (ffs)),.

Re: DSC S1: The Vulcan Hello / Battle at the Binary Stars
Where was Jason Isaacs? I got all excited when I saw his name but nowhere to be seen. I know he's a serious character actor and could probably hide under prosthesis but I'm pretty sure he didn't make an appearance.

The only aspect that I find ridiculous is that Troi would even come close to beating Data at chess.

Re: DS9 S6: In the Pale Moonlight
It occurred to me that Garak may have already possessed a data rod and was using the opportunity to do a side deal on the biomimetic gel. Wouldn't put it past him.,

Re: VOY S5: Counterpoint
Kashyk is so shockingly slithery that I can't fathom how Janeway or anybody else would ever trust him. Very weird delivery by the actor. I found him particularly hammy.

Points for Hogan being eaten as opposed to 100% red shirt but the poor bastard's last words were 'Yes sir'; to.... Neelix. XX@@X!!

Re: DS9 S5: Things Past
I'm interested in the decision the writers took not to have Kira as part of the regression group. In a way it would have made Odo even more uncomfortable and vulnerable. Maybe it was so that the last scene could play out between the two of them as a reversal to Necessary Evil in the same muted manner.

Re: DS9 S7: The Emperor's New Cloak
Lazy episode.
I appreciate the mime-acting but the concept was stupid. A ship-specific cloaking device wouldn't cloak itself. It cloaks the ship's hull, not everything within it, including itself. That would be something like Pressman's Phasing Cloak.

Re: DS9 S7: It's Only a Paper Moon
Ezri is not believable as either a joined Trill or a counsellor. Nicole deBoer's delivery is too adolescent. She makes the character seem utterly trivial.

Re: DS9 S7: Once More Unto the Breach
Some of the Bird of Prey maneuver scenes in Season 7 are quite stunning looking. The Visual Effects development from the beginning to the end of this series is massive. I've never seen another show that exponentially improves visuals over its run.
