Re: VOY S1: Heroes and Demons

Doesn't anyone else think the life form launch pad or subplot about a holographic lattice was actually pretty inventive and at least somewhat unique--the kind of life form that it was I mean and how it retaliated..by sort of,converting crew members into a form of its own species...even though though it was a Misunderstood Life Form premise..it had that added layer..did anyone else think that??

Re: DSC S2: Saints of Imperfection

Hey Omicron,

You don't seem stupid. I just got lucky and beat you and everyone else to the punch..I hope you and Jammer et al liked my other lame MU jokes though..I also like Dave' in MN's 23.25% "from concentrate Section 31" only 25%...

And I'd assume I'm also not the only one who thought OMG IS MIRROR EMPEROR GEORGIOU THE DESCENDANT OF MIRROR EMPRESS HOSHI SATO FROM THE ENTERPRISE MU EPISODE IN A MIRROR HAS ANYONE ELSE THOUGHT THIS?..It its yes I' mainly saying because they're both Asian women but also it fits since they were both Starfleet and empresses and since MU Empress Slut-Sato slept with Archer before she MU poisoned him does that mean that OMG IS MU GEORGIOU ALSO THE MU LOVE CHILD OF MU ARCHER WITH EMPRESS SATO FROM THEIR PRE-POISON TRYST..BUT WAIT GEORGIOU HAS NEVER MENTIONED WATER POLO SO SHE DOESN'T SEEM LIKE AN ARCHER..BUT WAIT THAT BIG SPORE DRIVE ORB THINGY ON HER MU PALACE SHIP COULD'VE BEEN A MYCELIAL WATER POLO BALL SO MAYBE SHE IS EMPRESS GEORGIOU AUGUSTUS ARCHER SATO TRIP TUCKER THE THIRD OR SOMETHING...OMG!!..HAS ANYONE ELSE THOUGHT THIS??

And last WILD PSECULATION..COULD TRIP'S CLONE SIM FROM SIMILITUDE BE ALIVE IN THE SPORE NETWORK LIKE CULBER SINCE THE GRAVIMETRIC BUBBLE GUM FIELD THE SPHERES CREATED IN THE DELPHIC EXPANSE LOOKS LIKE INTERDIMENSIONAL WOO-WOO THAT COULD BE CONNECTED TO THE SPORES..JUST A THOUGHT..MAYBE MAY IS SIM IN DISGUISE..Sorry for all caps..just want someone to read and be entertained amidst the 3,000 other comments here..

Re: DSC S2: Saints of Imperfection

Can someone remind me when Section 31 was introduced on this vseries? Ws it two episodes ago this season with Georgiou's Klingon surprise party on Q'onos? Or was it sometime last season with MU Lorca

..and has anyone else ever thought they should show Section 31 in the Mirror Universe but that MU Section 31 would be like a charity organization that gives people in the Federation free hugs and gives Klingons some bunny rabbits to hold to male the Klingons look softer and less bald? And of course the MU Section would be called Section 13...bexwause you know like, 31, but like the reflection..Sorry this was my attempt at lame Rom on DS9-style mirror uni puns...Hope it makes somebody chuckle....

Re: VOY S2: Tattoo

Jammer you say this episode was original..May I ask,in what way you thought it was..because to me it seemed a but familiar like the Chariot of the Gods idea..or can someone tell me if it was a fresh spin on that?? To me Elogium had a more original and imaginative alien race than this..although the genetic memory idea is a unique alien trait..and the fact they are so advanced yet live in cloaked jungle villages was pretty unique..so what exactly made you say this was so original over other episode s with origbalanced sci-fi premises like Elogium and Twisted and Persistence of Vision?..I'm not saying I necessarily disagree. I,hope you can answer thanks for your time..

Re: TNG S4: The Loss

I'm sorry but the 2-d life forms plot was one of the most, original, imaginative, engaging, and satisfying alien enoucnters and sci-for concepts TNG ever did..think about it..even if,it's not scientifically plausible at all, it's still creative and unique..a great example of the seek out new life mantra..and they were developed well enough withh the interaction with the cosmic string..doesn't anyone agree..this to me is right up there with Tin Man or Darmok or the Bynars..don't you think so Jammer in retrospect ?

Re: DSC S2: An Obol for Charon

Jammer would you agree the life form was original and the idea of an old soul also original and creative...what made it not groundbreaking in yoyr opinion..and what would have made it groundbreaking? Thanks again for your reviews. I really enjoy them.

Re: DSC S2: An Obol for Charon

Do you guys not lost warning of spoilers before posting comments? Or should I just assume thats a given for any, comment before Jammer posting the review...I'm trying to decide,if the alien life form plot was original or not..any other thoughts...the last contact is a fresh spin sort of as long as the goal is to teach and not leave a legacy a la Inner Light or Masks..well Masks was more to transform....bit the virus sort of similar...and unique as far as melding organic and inorganic parts and not, being telepathic right a la Voyagers Bliss creature..

Re: DS9 S1: Q-Less

Does anyone else think the idea of the artifacts being an embryonic life form was pretty inventive and original and could be at least somehwat unexpected? A pretty good twist on the Misunderstood Life Form plot? At least it wasn't just some random weapon or new technology or money? Different from the space jellyfish from Encounter at Farpoint since they were imprisoned and enslaved against their will and not embryonic...and they could replicatr virtually any object..so a slightly different life form. Does anyone else agree? For that i give the episode 2.5 to 3 stars

Re: DS9 S2: Second Sight

Is it at least fair to say that the premise for this episode was original? If a not inspired by Brief Encounter and Forbidden Planet..which i havent seen..what do other people think?

Re: VOY S5: The Fight

Jammer et al,

Correct me if I'm wrong , but isn't the idea of an area of space and/or an alien in that space somehow altering someone's DNA and needing to do that in order to communicate with other life forms a pretty neat and original idea?..If admittedly not well executed..And the concept that this life form us maybe somehow made of space itself and yet has physical mass and dimension..I thought that was pretty neat..what would you say Jammer?

Re: VOY S4: Waking Moments

JAMMER PLEASE RESPOND--in retrospect, would you agree this episode had a n original premise-- a "collective" dreamworld was very diferent from individual dreams of Troi in Night Terrors and aleins who live out lives in a dream state..it even predates Inception never seen that idea before in Trek or sci-fi..does anyone agree?

Re: TNG S6: Ship in a Bottle

Hammer and fellow commenters,

Looking back on this episode, do you think the ending and plot developments are expected and even predictable..how else could the episode have gone I mean?? One option I can think of is Moriarty actually escapes but never goes back and it stays a mystery and works on liberating fellow holograms like, the Countess..or he explores other holodeck programs as a sentient being like more Sherlock stories or other time period pr9grams..or he is destroyed..I do like that in the end the simulation he is trapped in includes the hol9deck in a homosexual and that he is in a shuttle traveling "the stars" as far as he knows..What does everyone else think??

Re: TNG S5: Imaginary Friend

Voyager had exploration..just sometimes not enough and soketimes too derivative..and I agree DS9 did not have enough exploration ..

Re: TNG S4: The Nth Degree

Does anyone else but me think the sci for concepts in previous episodes like The Loss and Identity Crisis and Night Terros were more original and imaginative and engaging than the Santa head?? Why not a truly alien alien..a nonhumanoid maybe that lives in a different higher layer of space and time or something?? Not another subspace life form..but maybe hyperspace or something..what does eve4yone else think..

Re: VOY S3: Before and After

Jammer,

Thanks for the review..can you elaborate on why exactly you found the ending to be as you put it inventive and labyrinthine..thanks I would appreciate it..since all we see is Kes' consciousness move backward until before her birth and then fast forward again...

Re: ENT S3: Rajiin

Not one comment about the most obvious here? They send in a spy that can scan humans so they can build a bio-weapon? Seriously? Is that more accurate than just snatching one, a live or dead specimen. Really? Beyond stupid....

Re: ENT S3: Extinction

As has been mentioned, the most stupid thing in this episode is the ending with the preserved virus. There's a whole bloody planet filled with the virus...

As for the captain wanting to preserve the sample could be seen as he's affected by having been Loque'eque. Which would've been an interesting angle if the writers had intended it, which they didn't...

As for Phlox discovering a cure so fast, no problems with that. The other angry aliens hadn't access to any genes that could resist the transformation. Vulcan DNA was the key here (always the Vulcans aren't affected by anything theme).

Re: ENT S1: Fortunate Son

Coming in a bit late to this franchise, I know. But main problems with this episode is the concept of 'boomers' this far out and away from earth. Come on, this is even before Kirk & co. It's supposed to be the first humans exploring the new frontiers of space. They even got excited finding some off-earth algea when they started the mission.

And here they run in to a human freighter ship that seems to have been in traffic beyond even where the Enterprise has been, and for a long time. Battling away with aliens.

Jammer what makes you so sure Luke is dead after this? Just because he mysteriously disappears doesn't guarantee it right? I think the ending was ambiguous on that point don't you think? Thanks for your review.

Jammer would you agree that even though the basic idea of sentient AI has been done before, the premise e of this episode is pretty original sci fi? At least somewhat unconventional and creative...

Re: VOY S2: Elogium

Am I the only one who thought this was a fairly well-done episode, with relevant dialog scenes like the ones between Janeway and Chakotay, the scene with Kes and the Doctor rubbing her feet also had decent dialog. And the twist at the end of Wildman being pregnant was good, I thought. And the subplot was at least trying to be relevant. I thought it deserved at least 2.5 to 3 stars. Anyone else agree?
