Re: DS9 S6: Valiant

I'm not sure what is such a big deal here, it's Lord of the Flies in space. The only thing annoying is that in all Trek, youth always pay the price for having ideas that seem more clearheaded than most of what the adults come up with. We don't know what went wrong or what we are being told by the fact that the plan, although well-executed, doesn't work. Girls don't know metallurgy? They are too cocky? What does that have to do with factual information?
The silliness to me, is lack of the plan not working with no explaination and everyone dying within 10 seconds of each other and yes, the extended escape scene and even them staying alive in the escape pods.

Re: DS9 S6: In the Pale Moonlight

I really disliked this style of Sisko talking to the camera instead of just his log. Why is it so bold to try to get the Romulans back it already happened once before? If it happened big whoop, it probably won't help. Yeah, treaty whatever. And Garack did something on his own, whats the big deal? Would have been much more interesting with a dozen of those accidentally created Superborg from Voyager but i guess this show isn't allowed to kick-ass unless the Founders do it.

Re: DS9 S5: Children of Time

Seems fairly typical of finding a paradise which has a flaw but spends a long time convincing you it's people are happy and everything only to destroy it---in this case----in a very convenient way. It goes along with ds9s bleakness without consequences. They keep saying, those people were really alive but who really believes it? It's just another dream sequence, overused in other shows as well but here hanging on us believing they killed 8000 people. If you don't then the dream is a bit pointless.

Re: DS9 S6: A Time to Stand

Not really buying this Jake staying on the stattion sub-plot, it makes little sense from many perspectives. Also, I just don't follow whats so great about the Hadar fleet except they look like something from Battlestar and have cloak. So the Federation, even with the Klingon help, continue to get their but kicked and conveniently find the base for the drug and even manage to screw that up. With all the scanning tech around, why wouldn't they instantly be recognized as non-Hadar anyway? I guess overall not bad, although it seems like something is missing.

Re: DS9 S5: In the Cards

"Alliance, Geigers and Bears", oh my.
Get it? It's a pun at about the 1/3 pt.
Maybe there was something in the air when this episode aired because it seemed like a haphazard mess. I have the feeling that some of the writers kids may have worked on this one.

Re: DS9 S5: Empok Nor

It could have been good as a spookhouse episode but really once the drug came into play, it was downhill. I guess it gives the writers a chance to have Garac murder someone and get away with it just to annoy people, who don't go for those excuses. Also, without redshirts, I guess the new tip-off is blue people; if there is a blue in your crew, you probably won't make it. And I think Garac just antagonizes O Brien early just because he is getting tired of people trusting him or liking him, I don't think he really cares about anything but him.

Re: DS9 S5: For the Uniform

Eddington made me mad the first few minutes then the whole "verbal sparring" just got annoying especially when he started calling him Jeviere or whatever. I guess Les Miserables was playing back then.
Combined with the annoying full 3D body messaging what is the point of that? But you guys he only threatened to poison the atmosphere that's what got Eddington to surrender himself and weapons. According to what they said anyway, could easily change next time. Not too bad.

Re: DS9 S5: Let He Who Is Without Sin...

You guys saved me. Ten minutes in I'm wondering if there is hope but apparently there isn't. I'm feeling gross at this point, so I'll just skip it. Good reviews, I'm sorry if you watched all of it.

Re: DS9 S4: Broken Link

I wish the founders would die but they've just ruined Odo's character. I knew it was coming after he killed one. I don't care about him acting human, trying to fit in. But it gave the writers more mushy soap opera material I guess.
The founders are evil hateful zealots. What do they do that's so important but lay around in a big cgi blob and wait for their spies? Unbelievablly boring so they manipulate people for fun, in the excuse they are protecting themselves. They are worse than solids.
And the Jan Hadar are just as bad but apparently can't even be nurtured out of their genetic "destiny" to be antagonistic bullies.
They should die too.
