Re: VOY S7: Drive

William B: thank you! I knew I missed something. That was the silver blob Tom and B'Elanna that got married. And all this time I thought...

A friend told me he dies. Which I though was terrible of him to tell me, mid-binge. Perhaps he is messing with me. Perhaps I should reassess my friends. :)

Re: VOY S7: Drive

Confession: it's 2018 and I have been binge-watching Voyager since 1:1 on January 1st. And my binging has accelerated mainly because I want to see how Tuvok dies (I have two theories, please don't blow it for me). Amidst the barrage of episode consumption, I must have missed something: didnt Tom and B'Elanna get married on Voyager about two seasons ago? I distinctly remember the mess hall ceremony and Seven not being good at throwing rice. I plead futility and possibly stupidity here, so help me out: haven't they been f**king married already?

Re: VOY S5: The Disease

Correction on previous comment: after sufficient internet research I realize that is not the same fellow who played Mr. Beuller. I guess I just wanted it to,be him.

Lie to yourself long enough and it becomes truth.

Re: VOY S5: Counterpoint

I'm not confused, friends. In the pilot, when we are first introduced to Harry Kim, he very nervously calls Janeway "sir" upon their first interaction. The reaction from him is total embarassment. The body language on Paris (or was it Chakotay) and Janeway herself after Harry's gaffe clearly back up the idea that Kim effed up when calling her "sir".

If "sir" is in fact completely acceptable even when addressing females, then why was the Harry-calls-Janeway-sir scene ever conceived, written, and put into that episode.

So you may be right, that I shouldn't be upset every time Janeway is called sir. Starfleet protocol...but that calls into question the scene I described above.

Hegemon out.

Re: VOY S5: Relativity

Its November 5. 1955. That was the day he invented time travel. He remembers it clearly: he was standing on his toilet, hanging a clock and slipped and hit his head. When he came to, he drew this...

Re: VOY S5: 11:59

I enjoyed this episode, its thoughtfulness, and the perspective on our current times by those hundreds of years in the future. My brain was exercising a good deal as I watched.

But Tuvok only had one line.

Re: VOY S5: Course: Oblivion

And the last words of the episode: " Aye sir". Paris to Janeway. Just ridiculous. Eight times by my count since Season 1 Episode 1.

Re: VOY S5: The Disease

The generational ship captain was Ferris Beuller's dad. That's about all I care to remember about this snoozer. Oh...and Harry's lady-friend had a pretty slammin' body.

Re: VOY S5: Counterpoint

The sloppiness is becoming exacerbated. This episode marks the fourth time in Season 5 where "yes sir" was directed at a female officer. Torres this time. I've counted seven of these inexcusable gaffes throughout the series so far. Methinks they might be doing it purposefully.

Re: VOY S3: Future's End, Part I

There are no better moments than when we get to see Tuvok in a setting where he is completely out of place--which is essentially anywhere that isnt on Voyager itself. This episode was special--keeping it Vulcan while wearing a do-rag. I giggled my ass off the whole episode.

Re: VOY S4: The Omega Directive

My first run through the series, and I have counted three times where Janeway has given someone an order only to receive "yes sir" as a response. Once was Kim. Once was Paris. The third was some no-name extra yellow-shirt.

It didn't occur in this episode, but this just popped into my head and must be memorialized.

They take great care to make sure we see a no-name extra immediately cover Security/Tactical every time Tuvok leaves his post, but they cant correct these audible blunders.

Re: VOY S4: The Killing Game

Yawn...halfway through this one I was already looking forward to the joy of seeing my favorite end credit names: Al Smutko and Lolita Fatjo.
