Re: TNG S4: Brothers

If that's the case, then every damn member of the bridge crew should be sent back to a Starfleet research facility, because they've all been possessed and/or mentally compromised at one point or another, with certain crew members practically making a habit of it. I'm looking at you, Troi.

@Justin

Yeah, that Brother Cavil, what a great guy, eh?

Re: TOS S3: That Which Survives

This one really anticipates a lot of Berman-era features, doesn't it? Technobabble-heavy plot, crawling around in Jeffries tubes, ticking countdown to the technobabble destroying the ship, last second resolution via more technobabble, and of course the Vulcan is an asshole. This must have been Berman's favorite episode.

Re: TOS S3: Requiem for Methuselah

The thing that gets me about this episode is that the Enterprise crew are supposed to be dying of plague from which only Flint's antidote can save them. You'd think that saving the lives of his entire crew would be a higher priority to Kirk than getting to shtoink Flint's android girlfriend. But apparently not.

I didn't get the impression that Flint died due to the landing party's actions, though. IIRC, the dialog stated that the reason he was dying was because the unique conditions that kept him immortal were only found on Earth, and he had left it.

Re: BSG S2: Resistance

Random Guy: Argh, watch the spoilers!!

This is the third time this has happened so far... it looks like I'm going to have to stop reading these reviews, good as they are, until I've finished with the series.

Nick, WTF did you put that blatant spoiler in there for?!

Re: DS9 S7: What You Leave Behind

Here's a nit that no one has noticed so far: At the party at Vic's near the end, why the hell is Kasady drinking? She's pregnant!

Re: DS9 S7: Chrysalis

This episode makes one wonder whether Julian has any sense of professional ethics *at all.*

Re: DS9 S6: Profit and Lace

Check out that look on Rene Auberjonois' face near the end — he's showing a lot more discomfort than Odo usually does in even the most awkward of situations. He's clearly thinking, "why the hell do I have to appear in *this* episode?!" Even though he's only in for a few minutes, you have to feel for the guy.

Re: DS9 S6: His Way

You'd think Kira would be pissed off at the use of her image as a hologram without permission. After all, she didn't like that the last time someone did that to her in "Meridian".

Re: DS9 S6: Honor Among Thieves

Not only the engineer of the most important space station in the quadrant, but apparently an engineer without whom nothing on the station is able to work right.

This would have been a great time for the Dominion to invade. The station’s shields would have suddenly gone down, and the phasers would have fizzled out.

Re: DS9 S5: Blaze of Glory

Gotta love how dedicated Sisko is to stopping a war with the Dominion in this one, given what he does just three episodes later.

Re: DS9 S5: Children of Time

Not to mention that even if they *had* gone back in time knowing what they were supposed to do, they most certainly would have not conceived children at the exact same times as they did the first time around. There would have been people on that planet, but not the same people we saw.

Summary: If time travel causes timeline branches, the colony’s fine, just in another timeline from the Defiant crew. If time travel doesn’t branch timelines, then the colony was screwed anyway the second they told Sisko et al. who they were. In neither case should this have been a moral dilemma on the part of the Defiant crew.

Re: DS9 S4: Broken Link

However, if they're so powerful that they're actually able to turn other Changelings into actual humans, why don't they do that more often? If they wanted to replace someone like Gowron or that ambassador from the Season 3 finale, why not make the impostor real? Then, the Changeling would have no need to worry about blood tests, someone noticing him turn into liquid form to regenerate at night (after all, what if the replacee has a spouse?), someone noticing that he never eats, etc.

Re: DS9 S4: For the Cause

I have to disagree on this one - there was something sort of... strange about Kasady's behavior ever since "The Way of the Warrior." The existence of this episode makes it look like they may have been planning her defection for a while, rather than it just being attributable to bad acting on her part.

Except that we saw Kira in command of the Defiant just a few episodes ago in "Sons of Mogh."

Re: DS9 S4: Sons of Mogh

I dunno, I've gotta go with Rory on this one. Hell, if they'd just stuck it out a few years, Kurn would have gotten everything back anyway.

Re: DS9 S3: Shakaar

The thing that bugs me about this one is, weren't Shakaar and Kira *also* risking a civil war over some farm equipment?

Re: DS9 S3: Explorers

One thing I don't get about this one - Sisko kept talking about going from DS9 to the Denorios belt in the ship. Isn't DS9 *in* the Denorios belt? If they started at DS9, shouldn't they already be at their stated destination?

Re: DS9 S3: Distant Voices

This episode creeped me way the hell out when I was younger, so I was surprised at how boring it was when I watched it now. Oh well.
