Re: VOY S6: Riddles

Do the people complaining about "PC" even know what the fuck they're talking about?

Re: VOY S5: The Fight

Everyone posting positive comments about this episode HAS to be the same person posting under different names, right? This is the worst episode of any series of Star Trek there ever will be.

Re: VOY S5: Timeless

Who fucking CARES if they made a mild continuity error with Seven getting drunk? Does that REALLY spoil a great episode like this? You fucking nerds don't deserve nice things.

Re: VOY S4: The Killing Game

What's with all the rude "YOU PEOPLE" message from overy-defensive Voyager fanatics who can't accept that some people didn't like this episode? Why is this, an episode about Nazi aliens, the episode that YOU PEOPLE are so defensive about?

Re: VOY S4: Scientific Method

Ridiculously low core by Jammy. He starts about ten different sentences with "I must admit I enjoyed..." and the review is mostly positive, but gives it 1.5 because someone said "DNA" at one point.

Jennifer Lien walked into work, marched straight up to Brannon Braga and dropped him on his ass with a Stone Cold STunner. They had no choice but to fire her.

You've got to wonder why backwards morons like DLPB even watch Star Trek. What could they possibly get out of it?

Re: BSG S2: Resistance

Oh, so you're not going to answer my question because you're upset that I called you out for your misogyny? It's hardly absurd, and the tenor of your response only confirms it. I await your answer - though I'll understand if you'd rather lob a few more ad hominems instead.

Re: BSG S4: Sine Qua Non

I agree with the view that's been expressed above that Lampkin's outburst is designed to force Lee to muster up his courage and accept the position of President. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that the episode makes clear that the cat has been dead for some time, and that its appearances are in Lampkin's head.

1. Early in the episode, Lee trips over the cat's upturned food bowl and gripes, "Don't you ever feed that thing?"

2. In a later scene, Lampkin's drops the pet carrier hard, as the camera focuses on it. The force of the drop is enough to make any pet owner cringe. In hindsight it seems that the cat's already been dead for some time.

3. When Lee beholds the cat's body, he remarks that it's been dead for weeks. Apparently it's already in an advanced state of decomposition.

I think the whole picture shows that Lampkin, though an artful manipulator, isn't fully in possession of all his marbles. In keeping with the theme of the episode, perhaps the dead cat is a literal reminder of Lampkin's memories of his family, memories that have with time rotted away into guilt. It is that guilt he forces Lee to look upon in the climactic scene.

Re: BSG S3: A Day in the Life

Nitpick: BSG's sin's against medicine are starting to annoy me. It's the little things - like how Cottle, at the beginning of S2, told his assistants to prepare for rapid-sequence incubation on Adama when he was already intubated. And here, when they show Cally with a nasal cannula even though she's in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber - which, while we're on the subject, is indicated for treatment of decompression sickness after prolonged exposure to high pressures, but not for vacuum exposure.

Re: BSG S2: Home, Part 2

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's certainly puzzling to hear our names for our own zodiac referred to as "ancient" when the series finale strongly implies that the Colonials are our ancestors. One might suggest that that those names became a deep cultural memory that was recapitulated during the development of our own society; however, the relatively recent origin of the modern zodiac in relation to recorded human history, as well as its particularity to a certain social and linguistic context in our world, seems at odds with the universality the creators are trying to project. Rather, I see the answer to this mystery in the snippet of scripture quoted as the Colonials' "Beresihit": " all of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again... "

Powerful stuff indeed.

Re: BSG S2: Resistance

Michael, aside from the distasteful stench of misogyny that drips from your comments, I also detect an unpleasant note of support for fascism. George W. Bush got our country mired in a pointless war that cost hundreds of thousands of lives, or millions, depending on how you count. He was known to attribute his actions to divine inspiration. Does that mean you would have supported a military coup against his presidency?
