Re: TNG S2: The Royale

A number of the comments above state that the 'skeleton in the bed' sequence was really creepy & well done. I've always thought this scene is suspiciously like a very similar scene in the 1971 film 'The Omega Man' with Charlton Heston (scared the cr*p out of me as a kid). I find it very difficult to believe that the writers/producers weren't aware of this sequence - it had been a major film & Heston had been a huge star thanks to 'Planet of the Apes' etc. So - plagiarism anyone?

Re: TNG S2: A Matter of Honor

I just love how clever the transporter is - it can dematerialize people sitting in a chair, then rematerialize them standing up, perfectly balanced! Come to think of it, why is there even need for a 'Transporter Room', since it seems that objects can be transported from anywhere to anywhere at will?

Re: TNG S2: Unnatural Selection

Nice shot of the shuttle landing on the planet, & Muldaur is a better actor than all the others combined - no wonder they had to get rid of her. Everything else about the episode is just bleeeh, clearly knocked up on the back of a postage stamp. Final dialogue - Riker: Set course & speed for such-&-such. Wesley: Course & speed laid in Sir. Uhmm - any chance of specifying *what* speed? Dumb.

Re: TNG S7: Phantasms

And I still say the Enterprise-D looks so much better with all it's external lights off. Kind of menacing.

Re: VOY S4: Prey

I'm curious - why is it that whenever the ship goes to 'Red Alert' then all the lights seem to automatically dim? Surely a (potentially) emergency situation is exactly the wrong time to have crew fumbling around in the dark as their eyes adjust? What am I missing?

Re: TNG S5: Disaster

The one thing I really like about this episode are the exterior views of the Enterprise without power - for once it actually looks realistic, not being surrounded by that horrible garish blue & red lighting & weird rectangles all over the hull. As someone who grew up with TOS, and for whom the Enterprise WAS Star Trek, I could never get over how TNG made the interior sets so stunning but the Enterprise itself look like a cartoon.

Re: TNG S4: Remember Me

Normally any episode in which Wesley is prominent gets an automatic zero from me. But this scores one star for having the best line ever - "So it's not me, it's the universe that's wrong.". I've had that feeling my whole life!!! In fact, add on another half-star for the way McFadden says it with such sincerity...

Re: TNG S3: Sarek

Did anyone else notice in the background of the brawl, a young woman convincingly beating the sh*t out of a bigger male crewmate. Cracked me up completely, especially as I was already laughing at Riker/Worf's "I hadn't noticed." exchange (as Derek D. mentions above). Why wasn't this actress given the role of Tasha Yar?
