Re: DSC S1: Lethe

Really enjoyed this episode. The edge is off and everyone seems to have relaxed in to their roles. I'm glad Stamets is on a magic mushroom high - his snarkiness was really starting to grate. Always glad to see them bring the tech forward, in this case with holo battle sims - remember this is an experimental science vessel so there's no reason they wouldn't have access to advanced prototypes. They were also shown in TAS if I remember correctly.

The Lorca/Cornwell scenes worked for me - they're continuing the long tradition of deep interpersonal relationships between captains and admirals in Trek. Also, why are people still so prudish about sex in 2017?

Glad to seem them cut down on the clunky Klingon dialogue. Also, loved the "disco" T-Shirts. Definitely a better abbreviation for the show than STD!

Re: ENT S3: Impulse

Another morally untenable episode. Let's not even attempt to save 140 of our allies because they're terminally ill? The Vulcans had been on the ship for at least 6 months and Archer requires several hours to evacuate after it becomes unstable. I think the Vulcan Science Directorate would have preferred a chance to attempt treating them rather than leaving them all to die.

Re: DSC S1: The Butcher's Knife Cares Not for the Lamb's Cry

I'm glad to see them pushing the technology forward with the advanced displays, holomirrors and spinning saucers section. My hope would now be that they advance it forward even further for futurology's sake, then use the magic mushroom spore tech as an Alpha Quadrant-wide EMP McGuffin that brings us back to Kirk-era tech in time for TOS.

Re: VOY S4: The Killing Game

I just rewatched this episode on Netflix.

If nothing else, the implications of this episode for the Star Trek universe are astounding. Holographic technology, combined with neural transmitters, can be used to completely rewrite a person's entire personality and skillset, giving them access to new languages (as seen with Neelix's mastery of Klingon), combat abilities (familiarity with archaic firearms) and a lifetimes's worth of knowledge. It can even be used to project entire body parts (the cranial ridges seen on Neelix and Janeway) on to a person. If combined with the doctor's mobile emitter, this would give any Starfleet officer godlike abilites.

Just sayin'
