Re: DSC S2: Saints of Imperfection

@Thomas

I disagree, utopia is what we should be working towards, and when we get there civilization will be complete. Aldous Huxley knew this, you should read Brave New World if you haven't.

Re: TNG S1: Conspiracy

I do like that in Star Trek Online these parasites are brought back for a couple of missions. I know that STO's canon isn't entirely official (at least i dont think so) but I love how it delves deep into the lore of each of the series.

Re: VOY S3: False Profits

The Ferengi on the planet think that people can travel through the wormhole back and forth to the alpha quandrant, since the Grand Proxy showed up and was going to take them back with him, but then decide to kill him. Wouldn't they be worried about being caught if people can travel there so easily?

What a great coincidence that this planet's religion so neatly fit with exactly how the Ferengi arrived and what they can do, and how it also conviently had a way to get rid of them at the end. Silly.

Janeway's foolishness in even dealing with the Ferengi instead of just going home through the wormhole, and her stupid plan that nearly backfired on her where the Ferengi and Neelix were almost burned at the stake, make her once again the worst captain ever.

And the fact that Voyager came up with a way to stabilize a wormhole in only a few hours was plain ridiculous. Also at the end they say it's jumping around erratically at both ends now, so stabilize this end again and go through the damn thing anyway. It's probably only jumping around in the alpha quadrant, just as this end was jumping around in the delta quadrant.

Really bad. 1/2 star.

Re: ENT S1: Shadows of P'Jem

In a complete non sequitur, I long for a day when the reviews and comments can make a critical statement regarding an episode of Enterprise without taking a swipe at Voyager. Having read several of them, I see it's not going to happen. Sigh.

Re: ENT S2: Dead Stop

I loved this episode. I literally laughed out loud at Trip telling the computer that the customer is always right. I had been thinking another old Earth saying through the whole episode that they appeared to have forgotten: If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Re: ENT S1: Silent Enemy

If a bad guy is required to talk to be menacing, you must have *hated* the classic film Dual, arguably one of the most suspenseful pieces ever written, where the villain never utters a single word throughout the film.

I found this ep to be very good, with the exception of the B-story, which really dragged the rest of it down, but I find that happens quite often. It's a rare dual plot episode where both stories are equally good.

Re: ENT S3: North Star

I agree with David. Not every episode needs to be an enlightening development of characters or climatic messages. I thoroughly enjoyed this departure from regular Enterprise (plot holes aside) I'm sure this episode would have gotten a much fairer rating had all the other actually bad episodes not biased the reviewers analysis.
