Re: DS9 S4: Indiscretion

Ohhhhh - I was expecting a dark twist ending with that one: Dukat boards his shuttle, points disruptor at daughter, shoots.

Re: DS9 S3: Explorers

This was the last episode I saw of ds9 before I started boarding school 20 odd years ago. I started watching the series again from scratch at the start of this year and I'm now super excited to see how the series pans out. I'm already of the opinion that it's a far superior to TNG - an opinion I suspect clouded by season 7 after I finished that rewatch... . For some reason I barely remembered any of the other episodes of ds9, and my memory of this show has always been Jake and Sisko in their solar sail ship.

Re: DS9 S2: The Siege

Having just completed a full rewatch of TNG, I've started out watching ds9. I missed it the first time, bar the odd episode, so it's totally fresh. And I'm finding it amazing. It's kinda like 3 stars for ds9 is a lot higher than 3 stars for TNG. From duet to the conclusion of this episode I've never been more gripped by a series of startrek.

Re: DS9 S1: Progress

Antimatter is readily available in the startrek universe and provides the power for starships to bend space-time. Fusion power is readily available and powers impulse engines. Instead of tapping a moon for energy, why not just install a few warp cores or fusion reactors?

Apart from that gripe, really enjoyed the episode and was glued to the screen watching moral dilemma Kira was forced to go through. I liked the fact she sided with the "other side" because that's the harder choice given her history.

Re: DS9 S1: Move Along Home

I would have liked this episode a lot more if the puzzles had a problem solving element. In particular, the second puzzle just involved them choking until they took a drink, and that was it. If they used a bit of logic to deduce what drink to take (like Indiana Jones), then that would have made it a lot more engaging - perhaps one of the characters could have "died" in the process. Instead, we just had a lot of filler between the puzzles where they pointlessly wandered around corridors.
