Re: VOY S3: Flashback

I thought this episode would become a real snooze-fest until suddenly the Excelsior part was brought into play. From then on I loved it!

Re: VOY S2: Tuvix

I never interpreted the crew's reaction as one of "despising" Tuvix when he showed that he wants to live. To me, they rather seemed simply stunned by the sudden and unexpected dilemma, thus mostly doing nothing (which is a psychologically common reaction in such cases). If Tuvix would have been "understanding", this would have subtracted from the dilemma (which is no good in the "drama" genre). To such a dilemma, there is no real "solution". In the end, one has to chose between two evils. The reason that Janeway took the decision all by herself was that she wanted to spare the crew, taking all the guilt onto herself.

Re: VOY S2: Deadlock

@Stefan: I think "duplicated" does not necessarily mean that one was the "original" and the other a "copy". Rather we should think that due to the "rift" Voyager "split" like an amoeba ...

Re: VOY S2: Investigations

That one wasn't so bad if seen as a single episode. Sure it somewhat depends on whether one does rather like the Neelix character or is annoyed by him, which is a quite subjective issue. (Even though I can't understand why, some people I know are majorly annoyed by the doc!!!)
The real letdown of this episode is how the story arc resolves - unexciting for such a long buildup.

Re: VOY S2: Threshold

The best way to live with this stupid episode is to interpret it as a weird dream of Tom Paris ...

Re: VOY S2: Alliances

I agree with David that this episode deserves 3.5 stars. Even while we may not agree with the content of Janeways' speech at the end, what she says is at least understandable from her subjective point of view: She *tried* to bend the rules a bit and it nearly engendered a complete ethical desaster ...

Re: VOY S2: The 37's

I mostly agree with the review, except that I think it makes sense to raise the issue "Should we abort the journey home and begin a new life here?" just now. Only on the background of having been on journey for quite a while without making much headway (wormholes etc.)the answer to that question is not a foregoing conclusion.

My big big problem with the landed ship was that because the special effects team didn't get the feel of distance right, the Voyager looked way too small, bordering on the ridiculous.
