Re: BSG S2: Resurrection Ship, Part 1

These cliffhangers are going to be the death of me. Wow I love this show. I'm glad we got to see some of the Pegasus crew shoe in regret and second thoughts about Cain, who is just plain evil. Cheers to Roslin for calling a thing a thing and saying we got to take out Cain.

Am I starting to see Adama and Roslin falling for each other? That's kinda sweet.

Can I just say, I hate how this show plays brief clips of the coming episode after the title credits. They stopped for a little while but then they brought it back. I don't need to see that even though the spoilers aren't massive. But still, I turn away while it plays.

Re: BSG S2: Pegasus

Holy Equinox, Batman! (This one reminded me a lot of Voyager's "Equinox" two parter) Just finished this episode and its definitely one of my favorites so far, possibly THE favorite.

I also was silently cheering when Adama gave the order to get back Helo and the Chief. I was even genuinely proud of Dr Baltar. It sounds like this episode was a mid-season cliffhanger when it first aired? I can't imagine having to wait so long to find out what happens. I want to turn around and watch the next episode right now. But I can see its a two parter and I'll be up al night if I go there :)

Re: BSG S2: Home, Part 2

Just finished this one. Oh I wish I had somebody to talk about this show with. That's what I get for coming late to the party.

I'm glad the fleet is back together. It was a tiny bit too tidy. Wish there were some warning from Roslin to Adama about removing her from power. She can't be worrying about Adama pulling this every time she makes a decision. At the end of the day, I would think she is in charge. Hmmmmm.

The religion thing doesn't seem like any religion in our world, where scriptures are sometimes vague, open to interpretation and debate. Here it seems more like a written mythology which people fully believe in or fully dismiss. In our world, religion isn't so cut and dry with written clues to follow. Maybe that will be more fleshed out down the line. At any rate it is refreshing.

I never considered the geography of the twelve colonies. I just kinda figured they were within traveling distance and that's it. Never really thought twice about it until reading these reviews. It doesn't really matter to me. The show is more about where they are going.

So the cylons need love to reproduce? I'm now going to be suspicious of any love story. Could be a setup like Helo and Planet Caprica Sharon.

Re: BSG S2: Resistance

Just finished this one. I'm really hooked on this show. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought Cally shooting Sharon was very Jack Ruby-ish.

That business with Billy didn't seem to ring true with all his past loyalty to the president. Interesting that Apollo wasn't loyal to Adama either.

That shifty Dr Baltar knows how to get folks to do his bidding. I'm glad they've toned down that business with Blonde Cylon chatting with him. That joke was only funny the first 100 times

Re: BSG S1: Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part 2

Just finished season one on Netflix. Even though I knew Adama would be shot (Netflix needs to be more careful, accidentally mousing over the wrong episode can be a spoiler "Adama near death after being shot") I still gasped and jumped when Sharon shot him.

The pregnancy didn't surprise me once Planet Caprica Sharon started puking a couple episodes ago. Indeed, has any woman ever thrown up on television and NOT discover she was pregnant?

But the show jumping between several key stories really had me in suspense and was just amazingly done.

Can't wait for season two...tomorrow night !

Re: BSG S1: You Can't Go Home Again

I have just now started watching Battlestar Galactica on Netflix

Finished this episode today. And I loved it. I am finally getting around to liking Starbuck. Loved it when she flipped over and her name on her ship. Kinda cheered. They needed a victory.

That doctor chatting with the blonde Cylon cracks my ass up.

Please tell me that the storyline back on planet Caprica is gonna be moving along soon.

Re: VOY S2: Threshold

I agree this episode is bad. If they take out the business about evolution and just said it was some warp mutation, it would have eliminated a lot of the nitpicks

But at least this episode was true to the characters. I still think the worst episode of Voyager is Fury. Because they turned a gentle, compassionate friend of everybody info some vengeful psychopath. Whose only motivation was that she blamed Voyagers crew for fer falling in love with exploration. Unforgivable !!!

Re: TOS S2: Mirror, Mirror

This is a classic episode. But the ending I don't quite understand. Wouldn't the evil Kirk, Scotty, Bones and Uhura have to be in the transporter room of the "real" Enterprise at the same time their counterparts were being beamed from the mirror Enterprise?

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness

Saw it this evening with my friend who knows very little about Star Trek. He loved it. Which is what the filmmaker wanted. I was entertained but not impressed, if that makes sense. I agree with everybody who says this seemed like it was written by a fanboy. Klingons? Check. Mention Harry Mudd? Check. "Needs of the many?" Check. Tribble? Check. "KHAAAAAN!" Check.

The movie briefly had potential. The temporary teaming of Kirk and Khan. If they continued that, the film could have been original and kept us guessing and debating about what should happen to Khan, after killing dozens then saving thousands. Instead they had to make him Pure Evil and get locked away in some garage.

But seriously that whole flipped Wrath of Khan ending. With Spock screaming KHAN. That's straight out of some very cheesy fan fiction.

Re: VOY S6: Pathfinder

Just watched this last night. I liked how Barclay had the Maquis in their old outfits. Nice touch. Just a guess he made.

In regards to the distance. Barclay mentioned at one point that the ship was 60,000 light years from Earth. At that point he would have no reason to think otherwise. He wouldn't have known about Dark Frontier and Timeless. Towards the end, he was in panic mode because the message wasn't answered where he thought it would be. He kept trying new coordinates and eventually he found them. I think it was more serendipity

Re: VOY S5: The Disease

We're trying to run a level-three spectral analysis on the gravimetric intensity in the warp coil isolation reflux chamber, and with all of you in here, you're affecting the upper-baryon results of the isometric relay variable outtake inhibitor module."

Ba ha ha ha ha! That was classic!!
