Re: TOS S2: Friday's Child

Sometimes you just have to forget about what the Klingons should be or look like., forget the prime directive for all we know this world was contacted before the prime directive. Then this is very entertaining with the lovely julie newmar as an added treat. As for the red shirt his phaser was on stun its not like anybody was going to die through his mistake - except him unfortunately!

Finally will anybody read this? 2009 - 2017 and still more comments! Maybe they'll continue until 2050 and the first warp drive according to metamorphesis :)

Re: TOS S1: Mudd's Women

Why is this not relevant to today? Why is it unflattering by today's standards s other commentators have said? Just look at the Kardrashian trash and clones women are anything different today (in the media - not in the real world which is always greyer than it is represented). And women still do the chores mentioned and still hack with rich men for money nothing has changed. Women have been strong in the past women are strong today. Women have been weak in the past women are weak today.

The central message at the end that you can only be the person you want to be if you believe in yourself will always be true.

Re: TOS S2: Bread and Circuses

20th century Rome where they speak modern English with 20th century colloquial English terms.

WTF everybody knows they spoke Latin as the language of Empire!

Re: ENT S1: Dear Doctor

there's a pattern here; every crap decision - and there are many in Enterprise- is blamed on the studio!

Re: ENT S2: The Seventh

No William B?

My Jammer really must have taken this on board paragraph after paragraph of writing just a few sentences for TOS and TNG episodes.

Anyway I liked this episode first time around and even more the second.

If only all Enterprise was like this it would command respect and 7 seasons.

I like T'Pol able to face emotional upheaval with strength and resolution just like Spock & Tuvak did.

Unfortunately season 3 onwards she is reduced to a sort of insipid unsure weak women just like Berman & Braga feel comfortable with.

Re: TNG S7: Dark Page

When watched this on first air on a CRT television it seemed to smooth over the director's dreadful choice of visual execution and pacing. I liked the idea at the time but re-watching now like a lot of TNG episodes is at times almost a chore to get through. As a side note Enterprise episodes were like that on first airing in general!

I should also say people enjoy experiencing (emotional) pain and that worried Freud at the end of his life (think of music that makes moves you as an example). The story tries to tap into people in this way but ends up a bit like a wine that's gone off.

Should have been better and I have to agree with Jammer unfortunately!

Re: TNG S7: Parallels

another BS episode where Braga tries romance and turns women insipid. Plus his charlatan's understanding of quantum mechanics. No wonder Enterprise ended Star Trek forever.

Re: TOS S3: The Lights of Zetar

I still find this episode much better than most Enterprise episodes that are plain dull.

Re: TOS S1: The Return of the Archons

while were doing the "Computer ™" and "Kirk Outsmarts the Computer ™" thing think "Wesley Crusher Outsmarts everything ™" of TNG for comparison:)

Re: TOS S3: The Savage Curtain

This was a wonderful episode that gives an excellent insight into the decline in writing as Star Trek came to an end. Star Trek (2009) started that way only to get worst with with the Into the Darkness improving with Beyond minus the rubbish intelligence insulting villain plot and forced queers onscreen.
