Re: DS9 S2: Second Sight

What the hell did I just watch? It seems like they swapped out a DS9 episode with a generic season 4 "drea- ghost" episode of TNG. The one where Troy's empathic abilities are temporarily out of order.

Re: DS9 S1: Progress

The B story was as some have called it "charming". I'm not a fan of this episode but i was blown away by how the writers have kept developing and fleshing out characters and relationships on the series. Jake and Nog, Sisko and Kira. That final scene where Kira burns down the old mans cottage like the Cardassians she's fought all her life would was amazing.

Re: DS9 S1: Battle Lines

This episode isn't as bad as some people say it is. This is definitely dare I say underrated. Jonathan Banks from "Breaking Bad" playing Shel-La was an unexpected treat. Even if I didn't recognize a guest star as one of my favorite actors from one of the greatest t.v. shows ever made I can tell Banks' acting was a home run. The technobable was made tolerable my the meta line delivery by Dax "A Deferential magnetometer. I've never heard of deferential magnetometer. How does it work?" Admit people there far worse instances of techobabel in the Star Trek universe. Visitor uses all of her method acting skills in this one. Overal this episode feels like a TOS episode written by Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame. That look of disgust and or pity was pretty good. This is an interesting piece of sci-fi overall. Though the limited set pieces and fighting definitely are sub par.

Re: DS9 S1: Vortex

Get past the sappy ending and you'll find an excellent development of Odo. The end was pretty good even if the forced sentimentality isn't to a viewers liking. Brilliant performance by René Auberjonois

Re: DS9 S1: Move Along Home

At first it was so silly that it made me laugh. Then around the halfway point it started to get boring. This had an early TNG feel to it. I suspect they borrowed some of the set pieces. This episode is low budget garbage.Funniest line in the episode is said by Quark "Do you know what a holosuite is? Do you have sex in your world?" Finally somebody says what most trek fans have been wondering about.

Re: DS9 S1: The Passenger

Siddig El Fadil's acting in the third act made this bland mystery and made it a riot of fun. Try not laughing as he delivers his ham-fisted lines.

Re: TNG S7: All Good Things...

I liked the part where the Enterprise got some badass upgrades. They added a lift kit and put super charged the engines resulting in a third nacelle. To a Trek fan that's kind of like adding a third breast to a beautiful woman. I also screamed at Worf when he attempted to cockblock himself when he was on the date with Troi. Then I laughed when Picard cockblocked Worf twice. Picard talking to file footage of Riker from season one was priceless.
Too bad we never find out what happened to Laforge's mom, who built the Dyson sphere from episode Relics, what became of the mind control aliens from Conspiracy. I'm still not sure why Tasha Yar became a Romulan. Thank you Jammers reviews you've re awakened my Star Trek fandom. I'm re watching the TNG movies and DS9 and Voyager.

Re: TNG S7: Preemptive Strike

This is episode is why I love Michelle Forbes. Strong writing and acting. Creepiest Picard dialogue ever at the seedy bar with Ro.

More Ensign Ro please. Even if it's a crossover episode where she takes command of the Battlestar Pegasus and tortures Wesley Crusher to death.

Re: TNG S7: Eye of the Beholder

This is a good. Hilarious episode just ignore all the "empathic echo" nonsense think of it as the episode where Troi becomes an early version of "The Ghost Whisperer" or is it "Medium"? It was fun to see the soapy over acting, the Worf awkwardness, Data discussing suicide. It was a nearly arranged mess and a fun ride.

"Empathic echo" sounds almost as stupid a plot device as "Space Dementia" was on Michael Bay's "Armageddon'

Re: TNG S6: Face of the Enemy

I enjoyed the hell out of this episode. Love the performance by Carolyn Seymour and even marina Sirtis. The writer's new how to effectively create tension. That almost submarine movie like scene at the end was television gold. My new drinking game is take a drink every time Tal Shiar is spoken.

Re: TNG S7: Masks

It was painful to watch the cast deliver the lines to a script they knew sucked. They all knew they had ten more episodes to go this series and wanted to get on with it as quickly as possible.
