Re: ENT S2: Carbon Creek

Pro: It had humor and showed Vulcans, especially Mestral in a more sympathetic light. I liked Jolene Blalocks understated performance and the fact that Archer and Trip didn't know whether to believe her story in spite of the "Vulcans don't lie "trope.
Con: It's hard to imagine the crash and crash site wouldn't be discovered and they made no attempt to cover those tracks. Not very logical.
I thought it was entertaining and deserved a higher rating.

Re: ENT S3: Similitude

I wonder why they didn't develop the story along the lines of Sim really being a part of Trip, to ultimately be reunited to Trip in the conclusion. That would be a whole lot more positive than coercing Sim to die to save Trip. Sim knew he would die in a few days, but as Trip would have a chance at a normal adult lifespan. I agree with others also that other crew needed to have opportunity to react and voice their responses. This story made Archer into an ugly utilitarian which is not who he really is.

Re: VOY S7: Homestead

I am a STV fan and Homestead happens to be one of my favorite episode. I had no idea there were this many people who like this episode.

Re: TNG S5: Redemption, Part II

We the fans know Data and his abilities and character from previous episodes and therefore we trust him. Hobson didn't seem to know anything about him except that he is a legit 2nd officer on the Flagship. So it's true Hobson is being biased and prejudiced but he also had no experience with Data and his abilities. He also may have resented Picard advancing Data over him. It must be tough having to submit to a CO you don't have history with. If Hobson had been less jerky it would have made for a more intriguing story.

Re: TNG S3: Hollow Pursuits

Sooooooo nobodys even going to bring up how absolutely CREEPED out Troi had to have been to find out Barclay was having sex with her doppleganger on the holodeck? Can you just imagine if it had been for real? lol Barclay would be fired and possibly jailed, Troi would SUE Starfleet for not having security on her pattern, just thinking of the all implications bowls me over. Thank God it's in the Star Trek universe, lol. Oh and around 12 minutes in I swear I heard Barclay talking about the "flux capacitor" lol swear, go see!

Maybe I'm the only person with gall enough to point this out, but about the 'Horga-hn', the pronunciation sounds exactly like the opposite of what it's actually used for, lol.

Re: TNG S3: The Offspring

This is the only episode of TNG that ever made me cry. I dont think it will have that effect on me again, because I cannot unthink what I thought at the end of it this time.

Data was saying Lal so enriched his life that he added all her memories to his own. It never occurred to me before, but I have 2 boys, who became teens since the last time I saw this episode, and I had the sudden thought "Yeah, then I'd know FOR SURE why we go through so much kleenex, so no thanks."

I'll never watch this episode again now, well, at least not until after my lobotomy next week....

Re: VOY S7: Q2

Even though I think Janeway is an idiot in most of them, she wasn't half bad here. I could be biased though, I love any episode of any Trek that has Q. lol He's my favorite guest star of all time. The kid who plays his son, is actually his son in real life too, so that was pretty awesome as well. - pepsiadikt

Re: VOY S4: Prey

Quote - Chris P. Frankly it's difficult to keep watching this show when the captain of the crew is religiously naive and careless with her crew's lives. End Quote

Exactly. I've continued watching, but it was only after a friend of mine said "Didnt you see the episode where they went through an anamoly and it made nearly everyone on the ship brain damaged and backward? You know the one where the Captain loses everything BUT her Liberalness and now just a few non damaged characters have to do their best to keep the ship running from the posts they have?" I said "No, I missed that one." He said "yeah I did too, but it explains pretty much everything doesn't it?" lol. So now, when I watch it, it's more like 'Die Hard' (or 'Die Borg' lol), Seven of Nine is Bruce Willis, and Captain Janeway and most of the rest (not the doctor) are the evil foreigners.

Seriously though, 7 just saved their butts and Janeway is like "Can we pursue?" Can we pursue??? I mean really! Come on. How utterly idiotic. What did she think they were going to do if they DID manage to catch up? "Excuse me, give us your prey back, or I'll blow up my own ship!" What an idiot.

Re: VOY S4: Day of Honor

The BEST time to have long long long conversations about 'feelings', is when you're nearly out of oxygen.

(That was sarcasm, btw, in case anyone didnt get it.)

Oh and if it would have been me, the energy matrix would have had a secret self destruct built right in, those a-holes didnt deserve anything.

@ Adam, yes, this one definitely reminded me of TOS. It was original for sure, and it had that same off the wall sort of good but cheap look to it, and it was definitely wierd, TOS did a lot of weird, lol

Re: VOY S7: Drive

I'm 12 minutes in to it, and so far I have just one question. Tom walks into engineering to talk to B'elana, and she asks him if he's packed. If they're just going to the Holodeck, why do they need to pack?

Re: VOY S4: Random Thoughts

I generally liked this episode even if the premise was really stupid, every time I heard them talk about 'the thought' I cringed. But other than that it was ok.

Re: TNG S3: The Most Toys

@William, but Riker didn't ask Data anything. It wasn't a question. He stated a fact. He states "Mr Obrian says the weapon was in a state of discharge" with the unspoken question being "why?" or "did you shoot it?", Data replied to the statement, not the unspoken question. If Riker had actually asked the unspoken question Data would have given a forthright answer. So, wow, I guess Riker actually gave Data an 'out' by merely stating the facts before him instead of flat out asking him, I just thought about that.

People are going to be debating this forever, but it kills me when they say Data lied, because his program and his charecter won't allow him to lie. Ok so yes he did 'dodge' the unspoken question, but he answered the statement truthfully.

Re: TNG S3: The Most Toys

Data didn't lie about pulling the trigger. Riker didn't say "Did you fire the weapon?" and Data didn't reply "No" it wasn't like that, Data didn't lie!

Riker says "Mr Obrian says the weapon was in a state of discharge" to which Data replies "Perhaps something occurred during transport Commander." and something DID occur during transport, Mr Obrian turned the thing off, so Data was NOT lying. Why doesn't anyone seem to GET that??

Re: TNG S4: Night Terrors

I think the reason they didn't just come out and say "We need hydrogen" was because if they had they knew the other ship (Enterprise) wouldn't know they were stuck as well in the exact same freaky dream situation, as in "They need hydrogen but why, for what purpose, and our crew is falling apart, but THEY want hydrogen." The Enterprise crew had to know the other ship was communicating through dreams, because it was the only way the other ship could receive a reply. If they'd simply said "We need hydrogen" then the Enterprise wouldn't have known how to respond.

Re: VOY S5: Once Upon a Time

When Tom Paris is in a situation where he's running out of oxygen he talks continually. Day of Honor - Tom and B'elana, Demon - Tom and Harry, Once Upon a Time, Tom, Tuvok, and Ensign Wildman, to name 3. And every time, they get a message saying something like "Warning oxygen depletion is xx minutes" Tom can't shut the hell up, lol.

Anyone else notice that?

Re: VOY S1: Emanations

Jack - who said "Hatil says that the death shroud has been in his family for generations, but...how? If it's worn to get transferred to the asteroid...who is retrieving it afterwards? "

I was going to say the same thing, but it occurs to me, maybe by "shroud" he doesn't mean that particular shroud, but "shroud" meaning that particular weave and color and perhaps the way it's wrapped, maybe other families used a different type/color material, and instead of ace-bandage type wrap for another family it would be a bag type shroud. I think that was the way it was meant to be taken anyway.

Re: VOY S6: Good Shepherd

I'm still trying to figure the ending part where Janeway says to Harren "You made a mistake, don't make another one!" What exactly was his first mistake? Following her order? Was it a mistake to decide not to stay with the rest of the crew to protect her, after she ordered them to leave anyway? First she orders them to leave, then when he does she calls it a mistake? Or am I missing something else?

Re: VOY S6: Unimatrix Zero, Part I

If they can plant a virus to let the drones remember unimatrix zero, why can't they plant a virus that just destroys the borg? Ugh, I have decided that the entire crew of voyager is slightly mentally retarded. after that I could enjoy the show a lot more.

Re: VOY S6: Equinox, Part II

So the doc from Equinox has his ethical subroutines deleted and he still cares about his ship and crew and stays loyal to the end, but the doc from Voyagers loses his ethical subroutine and turns into Holosatan? There was no real character growth, no real advancement in sentience, it was all just his ethical subroutines? I can't take him seriously now, the whole 'personal exploration' thing isn't real after all, if he can lose it with a push of a button and not just his ethics but anything and everything meaningful at all, then it's all just a program, he's not sentient at all. My favorite character really isn't a character. It's like finding out my favorite part of the whole show is the warp core. Wow.

Re: VOY S4: Prey

There's compassion, but then there's just stupidity. I really DO like the Captain Janeway character, but I so didn't agree with her in this episode. If she'd had her way and they had tried to send the alien back there's NO DOUBT Voyager would have been destroyed and probably even before they could have sent it back. She was making a choice, she was trading the life of everyone on the ship for the life of that alien. Compassion would have been to RISK the ship and crew for the alien, not TRADE it. I can't stand it when people I admire in a show do ignorant things like that, hopefully she'll redeem herself for me in the next few episodes, if not I don't think I can continue watching a ship with a captain who just doesn't give a damn about the crew and would trade it for any stupid alien that came along.
