Re: TOS S3: Spock's Brain

Agreed w/ Tornado. So bad on so many levels... and yet like John Pate I remember watching this episode as a kid (freaked me out Spock talking McCoy through his own surgery!) so I wanted to revisit it. Random analogy: as a sports super-star occasionally has mediocre games and slumps - so does a great franchise like ST, at times, falter.

Re: TOS S3: Turnabout Intruder

I can see how female reviewers would cringe at this episode - and all reviewers for that matter from a 21st century perspective. Imagining though just for a second that the opponent was male (i.e. eliminating the gender issues) I think this one of the best episodes in that it posits relocating souls from one body to another - a concept which has some traction now in alt-media. Again ST light-years ahead of main stream. Then supposing you are stuck in someone else's body how do you free yourself? How do you convince others when we are all conditioned to accept identity from outward appearance? ps. LOL @ scene chewing!

Re: TOS S1: Errand of Mercy

For some reason I like this episode a lot and would give it 3.5 or maybe 4 stars. The patience the light beings displayed - who embody only for our benefit. The peaceful technique of heating weapons to disable them. A path, albeit quite long term, to a future w/o war. These things are often discussed in alt media as being real. And of course, the foundation of the Klingons for future Treks!

Re: VOY S6: Dragon's Teeth

That's "attempt to help" in my review above.

Re: VOY S5: Bride of Chaotica!

Similar to my feelings re: Dragons Tooth I like this one more than the reviewer and would vote 3 stars. Not unlike 'Tomorrow Land' in Disney World, there's something "future-retro" about contrasting an imagined future and the real one. In many instances tech such as the 'imagizer' and 'ray guns' have perfect parallels in the 'real world'. Paris was great. I enjoyed this like an old twilight zone episode and would watch again. In any event, thank you Jammers for guiding us through all the Star Trek episodes. You've done a fantastic job!

Re: VOY S6: Dragon's Teeth

I actually liked this episode a lot and would give it 3 stars. The weakness are well explained in the review and comments while there's something that hits home about an attempt which opens the door to a severe betrayal. Also, the 'stasis' tubes may have some grounding in fact. Found D.T. very thought provoking!
