Re: Star Trek Beyond

Referring to my previous post: clearly my brain hasn't exactly been working on all thrusters since the death scene in STID. It wasn't Tribble Magic Blood, but Kahn Magic Blood.

Re: Star Trek Beyond

I don't have that much to say about the movie, good or bad. I think it's the most Trekian of the three. It reminds me the least, I guess, that this is not the original timeline (apart from Spock mourning Spock), which means it feels less forced. STID would have been okay without the Tribble Magic Blood and the horrendous ripoff of a death scene. I wonder how that movie would have been without the death scene in particular. All sorts of things went wrong in my brain when I saw that.

Re: VOY S7: Prophecy

No particular comment other than the fact that I was reading these comments on my smartphone before the episode was even finished. I didn't have the stomac to go through another round of cliché Klingon philosophy.

Except maybe, one more comment: before I started reading the comments I was looking for the name of the actor who played the leader of the Special K's. What do I know him from? Which series did he play in for me to recognise his voice. I was suprised to find a completely unfamiliar name and no series or movie to link him to. And then came the answer in Jammer's review. Funny how many people thought the same thing.

Re: DS9 S3: The Die Is Cast

@Brad

"But I have no idea why the Founders think that destroying 20 Cardassian and Romulan ships will knock them out of the fight for the Alpha Quadrant."

My take: the Founders believe they kill two birds with one stone: the Tal Shiar and the Obsydean Order, considered as strong military and intelligence organisations within their civilizations and by the Founders, are both exposed. Because of this debacle, on top of the loss of ships and operatives, they will now be under scrutiny from their respective governments and thereby cripled as a powerful element in the battle against the Dominion, which for the Founders, is a good thing.
