"Introduction to Jammer's Battlestar Galactica Reviews"

Review by Jamahl Epsicokhan

May 2, 2005

So, here we are. As Enterprise winds down, I find myself scrambling to launch a new section of this site, for the new Battlestar Galactica series. My original plan was that I wasn't going to make any decisions or write any reviews until after Enterprise was over. Obviously, that plan has changed, for a few reasons.

First of all, I've enjoyed the first season of Battlestar a great deal. The quality of the series was enough to make me decide that it was going to be my new reviewing project in lieu of new Trek. Plus, its subject matter and episodic structure (along with serialized elements) made it a good fit for my reviewing format. (Don't worry, TNG is still on tap, but probably not until late summer, as I've previously indicated.)

But the main reason this is being launched right now is scheduling. Since I think season one deserves more than a capsule-retrospective treatment, I thought it would be a good idea to review the episodes as season one reruns on Sci Fi. I'm currently synched up with the rerun schedule, so as the episodes re-air, you'll hopefully get a new review for each rerun that same week. Then, when season two starts in July, I'll theoretically be caught up and ready to review new episodes.

The format for Battlestar reviews will be more or less the same as my previous reviews. I've found there's plenty to talk about on this series.

Proceed to Battlestar Galactica Season 1
